Did anyone happen to see the segment of 'America Remembers' featuring James Zogby and John McCain between 2:30 and 3:00 p.m.? If so, I can imagine you are as FURIOUS as I am right at the moment! Brokaw was speaking with a gentleman who had lost in wife in the World Trade Center holocaust last September 11th. He was angry with the "silence = consent" attitude of the Muslim community toward the murder of over 3,000 Amercans at this time last year. He cited a poll indicating that "90% of Muslims blame America" for creating the international climate of tension that led to this act of terror. He further expressed his outrage over reports that Palestinians/Muslims/Arabs had been dancing in the streets and handing out candy in celebration of what Osama and his depraved minions had carried out in New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania. In addition, he mentioned that he had friends who had witnessed this in Patterson, New Jersey; among other locations. Having seen the pictures myself, I flew into a rage when I heard James Zogby (representing the Arab-American Institute) debunk these stories as "urban legends". He told the studio audience that these reports were NOT TRUE! Mr. Zogby, you are a lying b*stard, and you know it. To imply that this recent widower is laboring under the delusion of an "urban legend" when those of us who have seen actual photos of these celebrations is an unspeakable outrage. Did anyone else see this? Unbelievable!

I am still shaking with rage. The revisionists are at work; even on a day when Americans are in pain. I would be banned if my feelings about Mr. Zogby were expressed on this forum. (I apologize if posting this in 'Breaking News' is innappropriate, but the segment just aired.)

Urban legend?
And what rock does he think we've been under for the past 12 months?
Don't tell me. Brokaw didn't challenge him on it either. What kind of reaction came from the "live" audience?

Knowing the media as we all do I suppose no one challenged Mr. Zogby on his assertion?

Need you after the questioner set up the question so well, anticipating denials? If it's as stated, he did a good job.

This was of course not in any major newspaper as far as I know. I've heard firsthand reports of it too.

My son, who was in Manhattan on 9/11 also saw the celebrations. He had to walk past them on his way out of the city.

Here in Dearborn Michigan, they held a 9/11 memorial for Arab Americans who were upset over the terrorist acts last year. Only 50 people showed up. Dearborn (and the immediate area) has well over 300,000 arabs living there.

Bump this one. We need more pics that we can send to this station or better yet FoxNews. They'll carry the real story.

I knew they'd try this eventually. That's why I was sure to archive all the photos I saw of Arabs celebrating the murderous attacks on our citizens.

You obviously have something to complain about.

And what rock does he think we've been under for the past 12 months? Don't tell me. Brokaw didn't challenge him on it either. What kind of reaction came from the "live" audience? Unfortunately, most Americans have been "under a rock", since these images of celebrating Palestinians/Arabs were not broadcast in this country. Brokaw challenge Zogby? You're kidding, right? Zogby did state that "if such a thing HAD occured, then damn them all". (Paraphrase.) The audience applauded that line. Trouble is, Jim; it did happen, and you know it.

That makes a very small percentage!

I saw a similar story last night. They had some folks form Snopes.com on. They said that many of the reports of celebrating were false. They had surveillance video from two places that showed there were no such celebrations. One of the stories was of an Indian (right, from the country of India), who owned a Dunkin Donut shop. Read it all here:
Dunkin' Donut Hoax.

Easy to deny print, harder to deny the photographs.

Actually, some press covered it. Then some of the reporters who didn't cover the celebrations said that they were physically threatened if they reported the truth. Celebrations were widespread, with the young participating more than the old.

Not all Arabs danced in the street---and you know it. Americans, of all people in the world, should beware of characterizing a whole people based upon media images--and you know it.
Think, man, THINK! of all the images of "America" that are sold to the world by corporate Hollywood. People all over the world actually believe these defamatory images.
Don't become what you behold.....

That's a target rich environment!
