Admit it, Saskatchewan has failed to convince the rest of Canada Daylight Savings Time (DST) is bad. No province has adopted DST only to revoke it later. The rest of Canada was treated to the wonders of "Saskatchewan Time" on federal election night in 1997 when our polling results were delayed until after results from British Columbia because of time zone confusion. More Saskatchewan people than ever conclude that for our own convenience, and to end the confusion of others, this should change. Switching to Central Daylight Time (CDT) in April, 2003 and returning to CST in October, 2003 would painlessly fix the problem. We would have the same time as Winnipeg year-round. Scheduling phone calls, travel, and even TV shows would be much simpler. And Newfoundland, with its clocks set half an hour ahead of the Maritimes, would be the only province left with a dumb time zone policy!
Perhaps, but the standard time-only madness continues unabated in Indiana!
We don't want them all just the western ones. See if they will take New England in trade. This way we both win, we get the normal ones and they get a bunch of pain in the rear yankees who will never learn French!

I don't think I'd take any of the maritimes. They always vote for those nutjob socialists.
Don't worry, those two provinces don't have the common sense to make the switch.
For some reason, your farmers believed that your clocks should remain synchronized with their cows' milking schedule.
I like to think Indianans are better educated than that now.
But I have come to believe that you do it now just to aggravate the rest of us.
That's OK. In a way, it's one of the more visible vestiges of a time when we had 10th Amendment state's rights.
Despite the inconvenience, I urge you to continue to hold out, as a matter of principle.
I can understand why the golf course people would want DST: it would get light later, resulting in people able to play golf after work. And the opposite for cinema. Industry has a variety of reasons, one of which is proximity to Chicago and integration with their time. But why does the farm industry care? DST doesn't alter the number of daylight hours, it just changes when they happen! I remember hearing a few years ago about some lady in Indiana who wrote to her state rep asking for DST because her roses would get more light...

The farmers come with the silly argument that they will be in the fields later (clock time) after the farm implement stores close and they won't be able to get to town in time to buy parts and service. Don't ask me to explain it, but that's what they say.
They aren't. Trust me.
Pick one time or the other and leave it, or split the difference (1/2) hour and be done with it.
I hate so-called savings time.
ALL "conervatives" should hate it.
Twice a year, our normal daily schedule of sleeping and awakening is disrupted.
I happen to like to observe the natural progression of daylight and night as registered against my timepiece.
I hate that day in October, and that day in April when I am told to "fall back" or "spring forward" Or vice versa.
