I am interested in the fitness requirements for the Army Basic Training.
(i.e. how many pushups, situps, etc for minimum BT requirements, and what are considered to be above average levels).
I realize these are different for each age group, but after countless Google searches, I can't seem to find any diffinitive answers. Can someone here help me out? I am male, age group 20-25.
I am trying to measure my current fitness level against that of the armies with the possibility of future enrollment in mind. Thanks!

I got the info at home but not at work. My son started last week. Recruiter supplied it so he would be ready.

My bad. You said it. Anyhoo, the age groups are from 18-24, 25-31, etc. There are different standards, so what group do you fall into?

APFT Calculator This page will take your age and gender, and calculate everything you need to know about the APFT - the Army PPhysical Fitness Test.

I am 25.

I think (not sure) that you must do 25 pushups in one minute, then do 35 situps in one minute. Also, you must be able to complete a 2 mile run in under 16 minutes. Not positive, though.

While you prepare to enlist, ask your recruiter about Airborne School. Don't remain an leg.
;-)
Now get in the front leaning rest position. Move!

Yikes! 75 pushups in 2 minutes for top score.... Any other charts for situps, run etc? Could you provide a link that I could do the dirty work instead of yourself?
To: LiteKeeper
Three events:pushup, situp, run 2 miles. Max is 100 points for each - 300 points total.
Standards
This page walks you through not only the standards, but how to work up to meeting them as well. Good site - Recruiting Command.

25 Yr. Old Male: 2 mi run in 13 min, 75 PU/2 min, 80 SU/2 min and you max (300 pts).
Order is SU, PU, run, no rest. But first sleep 4 hours or less every day for eight weeks.

The calculator has you input the numbers, and then calculates the score. This will give you the scores right away.

Thanks everyone! Looks like I have some work to do!! I am scoring around 180 right now for the three tests, of course on 8 hours sleep, not 4 ;-)

Maybe you should try the Air Force or Navy. By your own reply, the Marine Corps is out of the question. The Army standards are not that hard if you are in good shape. But if you are looking to MAX the physical fitness test without really trying too hard to get in shape, pick the Air Force or Navy.
