Asa Hutchinson's promotion to the DEA should have been enough for even the staunchest anti-legalizer to consider the inherent corruption of the Drug War. Alas, like the 10 year anniversary of Ruby Ridge, the neo-Cons prefer debating troop movements in the Middle East.

Hey - what more could they ask for? A nebelous "war on terrorism" can justify even more Federal authority and budgets than the "war on drugs" and the "war on poverty" combined. Plus it is much easier to piggy back the justification for Empire on the tragedy of 9/11 and "terrorism" than it is to do so with drugs and poverty.

The Congress passed a billion dollar budget of essentially military aid to fight the drug war in Columbia; that bill had smoother sailing than the Homeland Defense Bill. No, I am still keeping my eye on Asa's Adeventures with South America Part II.

I guess that you can't cut and paste links directly out of Microsoft Word.

Keep it up, never forget.
I lived in Arkansas during that period, even met Jughead in his office. This story is right on, stinks to high heaven. We all had suspicions and rumors back then, and this story fits squarely with every intuition I've had about the corruption and organization.
While I don't accuse Bill Clinton of directly being involved in the murders, I do blame him for the coverup. That seems to have been the pattern, illegal acts by cronies and minions, then covered up when their actions started to float to the top. Just like with OBL and terrorism in the 90's.

Bad links.
