I support Sununu in this race because he is electable and more conservative than Smith.

Horse hockey this is another case of the Repubs eating their own. I don't need to know anymore about Sununu than that he is his father's son. The acorn doesn't fall far from the tree. Thank you Sr. for Justice SOUTER!

Back to the Country Club with you futuregovernor!

They don't come anymore conservative, son

I must have missed the memo. I didn't know it was conservative to oppose ANWR drilling (and even threaten to fillibuster it with Kerry, Feinstein, and Levin if it was brought to the Senate floor) or to oppose energy exploration in general (aside from ANWR.) I didn't know that supporting federal regulations on the treatment of elephants or federal retirement homes for monkeys was conservative either. At least a dozen senators have a higher ACU rating than Smith. Sure, he's a loose cannon - big deal - sometimes loose cannons fire in the wrong direction.

Sununu endorsements so far includes people like Vice President Dan Qualye, Senator Rick Santorum, Senator Ted Stevens, Senator Kit Bond, and Senator Richard Shelby.

Yep, Bob wander's off the ranch once in a while but there ain't nobody more conservative!

Remember that word son, try to replace Republican with it in your lexicon.

Haha, the country club arguement again --- gee, I guess the majority of New Hampshire Republicans are country clubers huh? Sorry, but when a incumbent senator - with all his power - loses his party's own nomination, then he messed something up very badly. This exactly what has happen here. You're just trying to rationalize yourself as the "true-Republican" and everyone else as country club members.

Rudy is trying to kiss up to conservatives in a relatively "harmless" way, because he has his eye on running for a national office.

Oh boy! Everytime I think I'm finally the king of the cynics I run across someone like you.

Is this the same Sununu who persuaded George Bush Sr. to put the horrendous Souter on the Supreme Court?

No, that's his old man ... the king of a-holes, but as I implied in a previous post, can the acorn fall far from the tree?

This is one of the best examples of the damage done to a party by one-issue politics.

Just curious. Which issue?

Gives me a bad name.

Gotta a hunch you're not gonna need any help on that score, son.

All you want is to see the fat buffoon beat Sununu so he can lose in the general election against Clinton-clone Jean Shaheen.

The polls show Smith quite competitive with Shaheen, contrary to what many here at FR have been saying. Sununu does do a bit better vs. Shaheen, but still within MOE.

So? Reagan's dad was a drunk who couldn't hold a job and he was the best president of the 20th century. Your point? I'm not going to judge someone by family members. I don't want people to judge me by mine. I guess you think its okay.

I swear, you claim Bob Smith is the most conservative person on the planet --- I point out how WRONG you are --- and the only reply you make is to attack his father.

And the fact that he would condemn the son for the actions of the father speaks volumes too. He must have had one of those PERFECT Dads.

That's not true. Iconoclast is also weakly attempting to attack your age. Son!! :-p

I like Rudy, but frankly his endorsement record isn't exactly anything to write home about. He actually endorsed Mario Cuomo, the guy that almost single-handedly brought New York State to the brink of ruin.

Your point?

My "point" is his old man made one the most serious political mistake since Eisenhower and Warren. We live with those kind for long time, kid. Young Sununu grew up across the supper table from him. He has no track record that I know of. I notice you're tearing down Bob Smith but not saying much about young Sununu except to imply he's a "fresh young face" (gag).

Bob Smith reached a certain level of disgust with his party, some of do that on about a weekly basis.
