[history]
August 27, 2002 -- A Muslim group in Denmark announced a few days ago that a $30,000 bounty would be paid for the murder of several prominent Danish Jews, a threat that garnered wide international notice. Less well known is that this is just one problem associated with Denmark's approximately 200,000 Muslim immigrants. The key issue is that many of them show little desire to fit into their adopted country.

You "believe" the majority of Moslems don't wish to hurt us? Well, stop believing and start reading. You can begin with the interview with Daniel Pipes published in the Investors Business Daily yesterday. He is the ultimate authority on Islam -- has been studying it for decades. Even my father-in-law, a peacenik minister who has been dead since 1971 -- named Islam as the next great menace to the world.

I don't know. Has anyone interviewed the majority of Muslims? Or just those in charge or high office? Would you believe everything someone touted as the ultimate authority on Christianity said?

(apologies in advance if I bothered anyone with a ping...but I thought the
commentary by Chuck Colson posted below might be of interest)
I do believe that only a small minority of Muslims hate us.
stuartcr, I hope that you are right.
But what worries me are the MASSES of silent Muslims in our midst.
This includes all the folks who gathered for the Jihad convention in downtown
Oklahoma City on Christmas Day, 1993.
I freaked out when I read Steven ("Jihad In America") Emerson's recounting how he
stumbled on this event...it was about five blocks from where I worked at a medical reference
lab for years.
And I'd not had a clue that the beginnings of a war was brewing down the block from me...
but for Emerson's reportage.
And the only ones you really hear speak up in the media here in tolerant Los Angeles
ALWAYS give lip-service to "condeming terrorism" before robotically reciting their
pre-recorded message of "well, we condemn terrorism...but the USA needs
to understand that support for Israel has consequences".
I don't even think it's a religious thing. Just as many mis-interpret the bible,
I believe that the Koran is mis-interpreted.
Well, there are some gruesome passages in The Old Testament.
I've yet to find any New Testament passages endorsing a Christian version of Jihad.
About the only really pertinent passage I can think of is about "the noble centurion".
And there was no endorsement, no condemnation of the man and his profession.
But...I'll let a winner of The Templeton Prize speak on this matter.
Even if he was convicted of a felony during the Watergate affair.
I'm still pretty shocked that a winner of The Templeton Prize (usually awarded
to those working in the fields of religion, morals and ethics) would pull NO punches
in this column.
But I guess I shouldn't be suprised that a fellow who served in the United States Marine
Corps has just cut through all the politically-correct force-field protecting
today's Islam and just spoke the truth.

listed at the originating website.)

The Scouring of Islam
You may be surprised to learn what your kids may soon be treated to at school:
huge helpings of politically correct nonsense.
The first lesson is: We have no idea who flew those jets into the World Trade
Center and the Pentagon. Thus, we have no business assigning blame or even
suggesting that certain parties might be responsible.
As the National Education Association guidelines put it, "We still believe that
all people are innocent until solid, reliable evidence from legal authorities proves
otherwise." I thought the videotape of Osama bin Laden and his cohorts celebrating
their success was evidence enoughyou know, the tape where they say that the attacks
on America went even better than they'd expected.
Then there's the program put together by scholars at my alma mater Brown University
that will be taught at more than one thousand high schools. It's called
"Responding to Terrorism: Challenges for Democracy." Student readings emphasize
that Islam "is a religion that values family and tolerance," and that
"throughout much of history, Muslims have lived peacefully with followers of other religions."
They didbut only after they conquered the Middle East, North Africa,
and much of Europe in holy wars.
The "Islam is peaceful" message was recently reinforced at the University of North
Carolina, when freshmen were assigned selections of the Qur'ánpeaceful selections,
that is. The parts about how it is the duty of Muslims to kill Jews, Christians,
and other "infidels"the parts about holy wars that are of vital importance in light
of September 11were somehow left out.
The problem is not so much that kids are being taught about Islam or even asked
to read the Qur'ánthough I have my objections to that. The problem is that there
is no balance in those teachings. In the name of tolerance, Islam is being
whitewashed; the distinctions between Islam and Western culture are being
systematically scrubbed away.
Ravi Zacharias warns of the dangers of misapplied "tolerance" that
trashes the truth. As he puts it, "Truth cannot be sacrificed at the altar of
pretended tolerance." "Real tolerance," he reminds us, "is deference to all
ideas, not indifference to the truth."
Ravi has got it exactly right. The differences between Islam and Christianity are
real and deep. They constitute the basis of the war we are inand the wars that
Muslims are currently fighting against dozens of other countries around the globe.
Sadly, the "tolerance" lessons appear to be paying off: The New York Times reports
that University of North Carolina students who read the assigned segments from the
Qur'án were "surprised to find parallels between [Islam] and Christianity."
And the September 11 lessons directed at grade schoolers, with their stern
warnings regarding how kids ought to and ought not to think about the terror attacks,
may well coerce them into silence.
As we approach the first, sad anniversary of September 11, I hope you will look into
what your school is teaching your kids. Are they being given hefty helpings of
what's passed off as "tolerance" these daysthe notion that we're not allowed to judge anyone, even people who blow up buildings? If so,
feed your kids a healthy serving of the truth: There are objective standards of
right and wrong, and true tolerance is treating our neighbors with Christ-like
charityeven if we disagree with their beliefs.

When did Europe screw up the world? If anything, Europe did the opposite. Most (not all) of the rest of the world can thank Europe for most of its medicine, technology, and overall civiilization. Most of the world, but for Europe, would still consist of mud-huts.

"It's the manipulation of people, under the guise of God's direction, that has been the cause of many of the worlds problems throughout history. "
Communist dictators in the 20th century killed or imprisoned about 100 million of their own citizens.
Stalin, 40 mil, Mao Tse Tung, about 40 mil, Pol Pot, Castro, and the other Marzists of the world make up the rest sum of horror of communism.
Manipulation of people by religon has been very mild compared with Marzists -- if we let these Islamists get their way -- they'll beat the communists dictators very soon. It isn't really about religon it is control!

You are talking about a small portion of the 20th century. I am talking about all of mankind since someone, somewhere figured out how he could manipulate people through their fear of the unknown and supernatural.

Here's the question for all: How do you get articles like this published in your hometown rag, so that JoeSixpack is better informed about what we're up against? If anyone has good ideas on this, I'm all ears.
That's exactly my question as well. I read these articles regularly here on FR, but I rarely see them in the newspaper or on TV. Fox News being an exception, but even with them, you'd think stories like these would get more emphasis because of the serious subject matter. This isn't some dog bites man story. It's a fact of the world that goes purposefully and regularly unreported.
People are only responding to the information presented to them, and they've only been told a fraction of the story. If they knew the whole story, the "feel good" attitude of many people would abruptly drop. There is no moral equivalence with societies like these and stories like this would make that abundantly clear to Joe Sixpack.

Doesn't the extreme lack of thought in statements such as the above never fail to amaze you?

I had the pleasure of looking through dozens of mugshot books at a German Polizei station back in 2000 and now that I think back on it, I would venture to say that 95% of the mugshots looked like North African or Mid-Eastern males 18-35.

Looks like Denmark will be one of the first countries in Europe to regress from the 21st century to the first. I hope they will stand up tall and proud and do what needs to be done. May they be a lesson for us....

"Regardless of their religious beliefs, most European countries with large thirdworld immigrant populations report increases in crime directly related to these immigrants."
You're right! We just need to get rid of the thirdworld!

"I believe that the Koran is mis-interpreted."
Naive. Read 'em and weep.
Koran.
3:151-152 "We shall certainly strike terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved. .. and certainly
Allah had made good his promise to you when you were slaying them to pieces by his permission."
4:91 "It is these [unbelievers] against whom we have given absolute authority."
4:104 "Do not be slack in pursuing these disbelieving people."
8:12-13 "I will indeed strike terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. So smite on your enemy's necks
and above these on their heads and strike off all their fingertips. This punishment is given them because
they opposed Allah and his Messenger, and whosoever opposes Allah, for him, Allah is severe in
punishment"
9:123 "Ye who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you, and let them find harshness
in you, and know that Allah is with those who keep their duty (unto Him)."
13:41 "See they not that we gradually reduce the land (in their control)"
Nobody's misinterpreted anything. These subhuman garbage heaps know exactly what they're doing.
