Like Booker T. Washington said, "You can't hold a man down without staying down with him."

According to those (mis)educated at most American colleges and universities, the statement above is not only false, but that Booker T. was also a "sellout". This includes my Left-leaning Independent-voting friend.

I, rdb3, AM a "sellout."

I've sold out the victimization mindset.

I've sold out the notion that I need someone else's permission to not only be who I was born to be, but to achieve what my heart desires.

I've sold out the notion that true blackness is defined by where a black stands on political issues.

I've sold out the thinking that I need some "leader" to guide me, other than Christ who was Crucified. When I need a leader, I pray, and look in the mirror. No other leadership is needed.

I've sold out the notion of being defined by anyone. Those licenses have been revoked.

I've sold out the collective for the autonomous. My slave forefathers dreamed of freedom, and I owe them. I am paying my debt to them by living as free as I can possibly be.

I, rdb3, am a "sellout."
