I, rdb3, AM a "sellout."
I've sold out the victimization mindset.
I've sold out the notion that I need someone else's permission to not only be who I was born to be, but to achieve what my heart desires.
I've sold out the notion that true blackness is defined by where a black stands on political issues.
I've sold out the thinking that I need some "leader" to guide me, other than Christ who was Crucified. When I need a leader, I pray, and look in the mirror. No other leadership is needed.
I've sold out the notion of being defined by anyone. Those licenses have been revoked.
I've sold out the collective for the autonomous. My slave forefathers dreamed of freedom, and I owe them. I am paying my debt to them by living as free as I can possibly be.
I, rdb3, am a "sellout."
I'm proud to stand alongside you.
Your post #35 made my day. I had been thinking along the same lines, that we need to somehow 'fit in' with society, go with the flow, and be labelled.
What a world and country it would be if we all took Jesus Christ as our guide and stood strong against human respect.
Your post inspired me to harden my will to keep striving to achieve it.

Wow! Speaking of powerful writing, about important ideas...
The way you live your life is the highest honor you could ever bestow upon your ancestors. You are justifying their lives. Such wonderful example of strength and dignity you are, for people of all races.
