No, Khep, it isn't right. Doc should spend more time studying his religion rather than engaging in euphemisms and semantics to rationalize behavior that is in direct opposition to Catholic doctrine, IMHO.
I'll pray for his misguided soul.

I'm not a Catholic, but in the bad old days the Inquisition would have dealt with the likes of this fellow. Now you see the Catholic Church in danger of being overrun by heretics and liberals who are propagating views contrary to its established teachings. Its rotting from within and the priesthood scandals are only the tip of the iceberg.

Whew... Man he scared me for a bit!

I have no doubt that Holy Mother the Church will not only survive the plague She currently is facing, but will be stronger as a result of the measures taken to expose and evict those who have demeaned Her.

I deeply resent the Catholic Church allowing such servants of the evil one (as this putrifacted priest) to continue masquerading as representatives of my LORD.

First fags, and pedophiles, now baby killing supporters. I am so proud of the catholics. Organized religion, ain't it great? And the Episcopals and other Protestant splinters do better?
To: katherineisgreat
I didn't say that, I said Catholics and organized religion.
To: ArGee
ArGee: Yep, "Toss him on his keister" in a maximum security prison. Where he, and all the other folks who think children are just expendable 'tissue', belong. That's real CHOICE!!!!

Just want you to know I have been working on the research for this. Still no luck to verify your story through lexis/nexis, but I've got someone who's gonna work the Marlborough library archives for me. I ABSOLUTELY have an open mind about this. I just hope you're not another FR weirdo sending us on a wild goose chase. The letter from the Pope (do you know how incredibly RARE a letter from the Pope is?) & the black flag (what religion is THAT supposed to be about?) are, sorry, huge red alarms for lots of people. We still can't verify any of your claims. But I'm game. We've got folks working the field to try to verify your post as we speak. I truly hope you've been honest.

So as a Catholic in good standing I can favor one having the "choice" to torture small animals, never go to mass, and rob banks? The intellectual contortions of the pro-abortionists never cease to amaze me. I, like every living Christian, am a sinner. I don't tithe enough. I curse. I have lustful thoughts. But I don't rationalize that my sins are anything but sins.
Ah, but the only sin that cannot be forgiven these days is the sin of "intolerance". Which means that as long as you hold an opinion about the morality of homosexuality or abortion you will be attacked for being judgmental.
Organized religion is now a front for the left's agenda. I urge anyone who's a Christian in a mainstream "politically correct" church to find a "politically incorrect" church where freedom is still defined as redemption through the crucified Christ.

By the way, you have yet to tell us which church in Marlborough MA supposedly flew a "black flag" and sent a letter from the Pope of excommunication (LOL!) in 1974 supposedly because your sister was "pro-choice".I am serious, I am absolutley open-minded about this, but you write all of us who have challenged your veracity via freep mail and yet you conveniently don't post for public posterity. Everybody has to wonder why that is. WHICH CHURCH? (We are as I write this still researching your claims).

Update from my sister. I had the date wrong.
It was September 1973

There's an article about Ortman in the recent National Catholic Register. This guy has been (rightfully) taken down by his superiors, at last. It seems that "Doc" Ortman's idea that 'anything goes': i.e., that there's no such thing as right or wrong & that morality is a fungible commodity doesn't hold a whole lot of water with some US bishops who may be FINALLY making the connection that certain priests who think that 'anything goes if it feels good - who cares what Rome thinks',are also the ones who have been having their way with altar boys all these years. AMEN & ALLELUIA!!!!

""This is not what the catholic church said when it slammed the door on my sister and her son. We were all going to his baptism and the church kicked us out. They refused to baptize my nephew because my sister said she was pro-choice... They flew a black flag over the church. The Pope sent a letter to my sister condeming her. We baptized my Godson on the front steps of the same church on live television, they then defrocked the priest that did the baptisim. They make me sick!."
Well, I really tried to find out what you were talking about here . Maybe you could point me to a newspaper or something that could confirm what you have said?
