The scent dogs are supposed to respond only to a DEAD body, not to live people being there (motorhome or wherever). Remember that Westerfield in talking with the police before he was charged and arrested, referred to "we" in describing the motor home trip to the desert, yet he was supposedly alone on that trip.

If he had Danielle in the motor home at that point, but she was still alive and wimpering into her mouth gag, and he only killed her when it was time to "dispose of evidence and witnesses," then the dogs should not have responded to the motor home.

The jury's guilty verdict makes sense on the facts. The protestors on this thread who say "an innocent man was railroaded," do not make sense.

Now that the public's crys for a sacrifice are fulfilled -- for these three verdicts fulfilled that blood lust, as image is all important to the blood-lusty marchers to the media's great sacrificial altar -- now slacked, some -- such as you, I expect -- will over the days and months come to discontents and regrets as to the wisdom of this verdict and the fairness of this trial.

Put that statement up in lights, bold type. It never ceases to amaze me that a few ragtag Freepers somehow manage to defend a consumer of child porn and now a convicted murderer.

Hope Westerfield has his order in for a Nomex lining for his coffin. He'll need it in (hopefully) only a few years.

Exactly right. Westerfield was guilty of this murder. No question, which is why the jury finally, after lots of deliberation, found him so. I am elated that the Jury system really does work and that this preditor and sexual criminal has been found guilty.
