Dead Squirrel Painted By Road Crews - Resident Sees It As 'Uncaring' (Ohio)

CLEVELAND -- A photo in the Akron Beacon Journal shows a dead squirrel painted over by a road crew, NewsChannel5 reported.

The incident happened on Riverview Road in the Valley.

"I think that's kind of tacky, kind of uncaring, too," said Vonceil Terrell, an Akron resident.

Janet Carter, another resident, said, "I don't think they should've gone over it. There's no way you could miss a squirrel. I think they should've picked up the squirrel before they did the road."

That's the sentiment of the city's Service Director Joe Kidder.

Kidder said the carcass should have been picked up and that not doing so was a mistake.

How do you Texans cook armadillo? Rare, medium or well done.

Any real Texan would strew it up with some chili peppers.

Bet the same people could care less about dead little humans as in abortion. Nah, a dead squirrel painted over by the road crew is more shocking than a woman who premeditates the murder of her little unborn human being with the help of course of a allopathic doctor.

I've had rattlesnake, squirrel, possum(too greasy), rabbit, but never wanted to try possum on the half-shell.

How do you know that? Are you from Texas?

LOL! I came from a union family - my mom was in a union at the woolen mill she worked in, my grandfather was in a union at his woolen mill, too... My dad was in a union at goodyear, and I've been in several myself - UFCW, SEIU, Teamsters, Textile Workers, UPA... Never again... needless to say, I tend to be a bit cynical about unions... ;0)

Stew barbecue.

It's, well, O.K. But brisket, ribs, sausage, chicken and goat are all much better.

I don't recall seeing an armadillo with racing stripes before. Must be a new breed.

I assume possum on the the half shell is armadillo.

As an aside, I like rattlesnake meat. Never tried squirrel though.

I don't disagree with you on that. It's just that armadillo look like it might be a little hard to chew if not cooked properly.

It is. That's why you've got to stew it -- breaks it down.

I couldn't say first hand as I've never tasted it. I just have this thing about eating vermin.

Give me elk or venison any day.
