others follow in a psycho-somatic reaction when they are not really illWell, I've seen this on an individual basis (vomiting after seeing someone else doing it), but 30 people? We don't know how many passengers were on this aircraft, but it very well could be the entire passenger compliment; regardless, it's a sizable number indeed, and I don't buy it.
It would be interesting to know just how "thorough" this search was: ""No viles labeled BIOTOXIN, and I don't smell anything; lets go". 12 Monkeys, anyone? It's well known that the most efficient way to spread any naughty substance is via the airlines.

What on Earth are you saying? That because 2-4% of Ontario people have a distant (100+ years) French background, those people should be killed?
Well, you better get your posse together and start marching on Ohio, Michigan and Louisiana, all of which have at least as much french ancestory as Ontario.
Feel free to post links to some of these articles that state that Toronto is a hot-bed. I don't doubt that there may be some up there, but it is hardly as bad as say, NJ, NY or any major city here in the US. The last I checked there had only been one attack by Al Queda on the US, and all 19 of those people flew into the US directly.

It is quite rediculous honestly!
This guy clearly has never been to Toronto if he is claiming that it is of french background.
I guess it is much easier to blame the phantom menace that is Toronto than actually looking at problems close to home.
Painting with such broad strokes as some paint with is quite astounding.

Agreed. On one trip I flew from San Francisco to Toronto. Leaving SFO, a 10-12 yr old girl ahead of me had all of her bags torn apart, with the middle-eastern security agent perusing her very personal items in her carry-on (to her embarrasment, the poor girl). Yet the two middle-eastern 20 something passengers ahead of me barely got a second look.
Me, a 20 something white guy had my shoes taken off and inspected, yet not any electronic devices. The two middle-eastern guys didn't have anything inspected, period.
Leaving Toronto, every single passenger was checked, regardless of race/age. Every single electronic device turned on.

It really is quite rediculous, I agree.
I wonder what would happen if they were to go and take a look at the thread called USOCanteen Freeper Style and check out yesterday's thread. Then they could see all that Canada has done FOR us.

I travel to Canada often for business... all over Canada. I can say that I love Canada and Canadians! I'm not going to get into the politics. But its a beautiful country. The people are just wonderful and I have always felt at home. Aiport security was much more inclusive and more fair than the U.S. security.
To all you Canadians and part Candians... here is one American that will not bash either you or your country.

Does anyone remember a similiar incident maybe 2 months ago, on a jet bound for...um...damn can't remember...Russia/China area? Plane reported having gone through the decom process, then no more word except for the few 'corrections' on the facts that were mis-translated or something??
To: ClaraSuzanne
The area around Calgary/Banff/Canmore has got to be the most beautiful landscape on the Earth. I was just there last weekend for a quick trip. I'm already planning my return visit.
To: StolarStorm
Yes, It is beautiful out there. Enjoy your trip back.

Anyone want to take a guess as to how long it will be before this is covered up in one way or another?
A couple of points. 1) Canadians are a pain in the rear end. You love to pick at us Americans. You pretend to think you're better, you love to argue with us. That said, when it comes down to war the US and Canada are ONE. You are our BROTHERS and I mean BLOOD not just something you say. If we do more of the world policing it's just because there are so many more Americans than Canadians.
2) I actually feel a little bit for the airlines for once in my life because I think it's the government's incompetence, denial, malfeasance, cruelty, stalinist/liberal political correctness, and idiocy when it comes to the feeble-minded attempt to secure the transportation system that is driving the airlines into the ground. On the other hand I think that in wartime we need to reduce the number of people traveling for pleasure by about a factor of 10 so that we CAN secure the transportation system so I'm sorry but there really isn't any need for all of the air transport capacity that exists today. It would seem like there would be other ways besides federal government strong-arm tactics to convince people not to fly, but at the end of the day I think they may be blundering into the correct policy.
Now before you even start in on me... the freedom to fly where you want when you want is not a civil liberty and when this thing is over you may get that privilege back again. And don't tell me we're not really at war because the truth, kiddies, is:
You ain't seen nuthin' yet.

"Toronto has been a starting point for terror? Care to back this up, or is this simply more Canuck bashing? Since to post all the links here would involve me doing what you are capable of doing yourself, I have this suggestion, try putting the word Toronto in the search box located on this page. You just might be surprized at the outcome.

A ... This thread seems to have taken an odd turn, but Baltimore is still broken ... thanks for the *ping* ping. *grins*
To: illstillbe
All the passengers got sick? Was this before or after they served lunch? Airline food will kill ya!
To: ClaraSuzanne

"Since to post all the links here would involve me doing what you are capable of doing yourself, I have this suggestion, try putting the word Toronto in the search box located on this page..." Quite a comment coming from someone who posted this earlier...
"Anyone know if Canada's airports are secure? Even a little bit? Or are they following their ancessors footsteps? Considering most of Canada is of French Decent..."
Why not heed your own advice and dispell your ignorance. Use the search box. Guess what, Toronto's airport IS much safer than any (except maybe Reagan National) here in the US. They more thouroghly screen, they check baggage better and if flying to the U.S you must pass through AMERICAN agents to board the plane. What more could you ask?. Use the search box... guess what, most of Canada ISN'T of french origin. In fact, more people in Ontario are of American origin than french. This has been the case since around 1840.
As for your continuing claim of Toronto being a hub for terrorism (although with your apparent lack of any knowledge regarding Toronto, or Canada in general, I am not sure why these vague references even need to be discussed), I used the search box, found many articles on Toronto. However, only THREE were related to terrorism or racist crimes in any way, and in two of these cases the perps were caught. One of them, a guy sending cash to the US was arrested, and the second involved a Jewish man that was murdered. The third article detailed the Federal Governments incompetence in releasing 12 men with possible Al Queda ties. If you are trying to point out that the Canadian Federal Government is incompetent, get in line. I am the first to agree with you there, the Liberal gov has been a cancer on Canada. Hell they even sent M. Atta a new Visa after he blew up the WTC... Oh wait that wasn't Canada that did that.
Guess what? I can pick any city in the world today, do a search on Google and find 'references' to Al Queda or terroristic activity. Sydney... yep, London... yep, New York.. yep.
"I have this suggestion, try putting the word Toronto in the search box located on this page. You just might be surprized at the outcome"
Pointing to Toronto specifically as a terror hub/starting point is patently false. If it makes you sleep better at night thinking that the terrorists are operating up in Toronto and not here in the US, maybe you yourself should use the handy search box. Put in your local big city and see what comes up.
