Hillary gives lots of bucks to Dem friends

Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York is proving to be one of the Democrats' largest donors far outpacing her Senate party leaders to Democratic candidates.

Clinton's leadership political action co0mmitttee, HILLPAC, has donated $469,000 to Senate and House Democratic candidates in this election cycle, according to Federal Election Commission records through June 30.

Patricia Solis Doyle, executive director of HILLPAC, said the aggressive pace of contributions to fellow Democrats should quiet accusations that Clinton intends to hoard donations to her leadership PAC for a presidential bid.

"Our mission is to get Democrats elected," Doyle said. HILLPAC had $62,557 in available cash.

Political action committees are usually viewed as a tool for higher office. About 20 senators have PACs, but it's rare for a freshman lawmaker such as Clinton to have one.

Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle's DASHPAC has contributed $269,000 to Democrats in the same 18-month period, leaving about $1.1 million in the fund. Daschle, D-S.D., is up for re-election in 2004 and is considering a run for the presidency.

Clinton has said she intends to serve her full six-year term as a senator, which would preclude a presidential bid in 2004.

Her donor base includes a broad-range of well-known people, including model Christie Brinkley ($5,000); Robert Johnson, chairman of Black Entertainment Television ($5,000); and Dreamworks co-founder Jeffrey Katzenberg ($2,500).

Among those who have contributed $10,000, include longtime friend Walter Kaye, who referred Monica Lewinsky to the White House for an internship.

hillary is LOADED? Gee, I did not know that. Where does she keep all that money? Let me guess, a numbered Swiss bank?

You got that right. That Waksal money isn't going to be "sated" by Hitlery. BTW, I'd like to see the follow-up figures on all of the money that she said would be returned in connection with the pardons that the Clintons and the Rodhams sold. Anyone ever see any proof that the money was returned?

I'm sure Hillary the Hussy will be calling in her chips sooner rather than later and at a very high interest rate.

The Washington based American politican is a rare breed. You can not buy them with yesterdays money. You can only rent them for today with money they need right now.

The next polititian who tells a donor, "When you gave me money you were buying into my agenda. I was not buying into yours." will not be the first or the last. He will be the frequent.

It was Harry Truman who said, "If you are in Washington politics and want loyalty..... buy a dog." Hillary should take Harry's advice and buy a bitch with distemper.. She will find they have a lot in common and they say that is comforting. It is, as they say, something to sneeze at.

Hillary will only get campaign support she could have gotten for no money. She can get an appreciation dinner by donating money to congressional Democrats, but not delgates or support for a nominating convention. Most likely what she is asking in return for the money she is raising, is that her senatorial and congressional buddies let her play leader before the media. That is the same asking your fellow actors to let you steal the show. That does not work in show business or politics ... but I repeat myself.

It was Richard Nixon who knew what to do. From 1965 until 1968 he raised money for state legislators, governors, mayors, city council and county commissioners. They will pay a candidate back by getting out the votes on primary day. As for the Washington crowd, they will endorse Hillary as a candidate the day they are convinced she has the nomination completely sewed up.

Looks like the interest on all the money Hillary funneled to her Swiss bank account while "co-president" is paying off. Marc Rich is making sure of that.

I don't believe in the transmigration of souls, but if Lucrezia Borgia is back here, I know the entity she chose...

You give Hilladusa way too much credit. Lucrezia was renowned to be, at least, beautiful. Hilladusa is Jezebel -- evil incarnate. ~Pray

Correct you are. Hillary is not a Venetian fox. And she is evil - as you say. The Ahab and Jezebel analogy is more apt than we might think. Ahab really is the malleable Klutz (Bubba Rex), but she is the cunning one. The story of this pair is yet to be told...I trust the ending will also be Biblical, slurping dogs and all. And yes, we must pray without ceasing. (Can you imagine how over-the-top this commentary must seem to the brainwashees over at Dem Underground????)

Blessings on Freepers Everywhere.

I don't think you have anything to worry about...those folks don't read the Bible, it is, after all, so intolerant, you know. (wink)
