One More Reason… the Republicans will regain the majority in the Senate.

“One More Reason… the Republicans will regain the majority in the Senate."

Wednesday, August 7:
...Because Erskine Bowles (aka Poster Boy for Corporate Irresponsibility) can't seem to keep the oh-so-unflattering details of that pesky $4.2 mil job at Forstmann Little off his resume and out of the papers. (That's $4.2 mil a year...)

You may recall, the State of Connecticut lost over ONE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS of its pension funds -- dollars that were unwisely (to be charitably delicate) invested by Forstmann Little during Poster Boy's tenure. The real losers? Connecticut retirees who had worked hard and played by the rules...

(Reckon some of them might move south JUST to thank Erskine in their own special way?)

The State of Connecticut has filed suit. But for some reason (a mystery!) Poster Boy is not named in the suit -- although all of the highly questionable investment decisions were made during his tenure.

Now, inquisitive minds want to know why...

Were political deals involved?

Bowles' spokesman ain't sayin'.

Tuesday, August 6:
Because according an American Viewpoint poll, Cornyn leads Kirk 46% to 35% among all voters and 50 to 35% among high propensity voters.

I keep hearing that Sen Nickles is going to run for Majority Leader -- when it gets closer to the election think we should spotlight that! Nickles for Majority Leader -- that is the RATS worst nightmare and for conservatives a dream come true!

Finally dawned on me why exposing Democrat corruption had little effect on the popularity of Democrat candidates.

Democrat voters see corruption as proof their guy is doing what they elected him to do.

SHARPTON-GORE FOR 2004!

OH! I like the sound of that!

However I would prefer Sharpton run as an Independent and suck the black vote away from the Dems the way Nadar sucked the green vote away from them in 2000.

This sounds like the people who decided to sit out the Bush-Clinton election to show Bush a lesson.

Irksome Bowels in the senate? Replacing Jesse Helms?

C'mon!

hmmm, thats a thought! I posted this on another thread and the posters all thought I was a DNC plant! Maybe Sharpton-Gore in 2004 isn't so daffy. I swear I meant it tongue in cheek!

Nope, not ready to see her hugging Hillary. But I am ready to put up with her if it means getting back the Senate and getting Bush's judicial nominees confirmed. And she WILL vote for Bush's judicial nominees. She's not going to bite the hand that fed her.

Everything else can be fought in the courts. If the next two years of confirmations go the way of the last, you can prepare yourself for more wonderful decisions like the one we saw in the 9th circuit a month or so ago.

They thought (reasonably) that it was odd to throw that out on threads that didn't lend themselves to mention of either man.

As much as I hate to say it, I would rather see her hugging Hillary than Bowles. I want the Senate Committee Chairmanships and I want Sen Don Nickles from here in OK as the next Majority Leader of the Senate and if it takes supporting Dole over Bowles, I would do it anyday.

We don't need one more DemocRAT or clintonite in the United States Senate!!!!!

I would not be surprised if the GOP lost Senate seats. I can remember hearing the party line in 1996, 1998, 2000, of how the GOP would gain seats in the Senate. It didn't happen.

If the GOP loses seats this time, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what will happen. Conservatives will get blamed, and Bush will use it as an excuse to move further to the left.

On the other hand, if the GOP wins the Senate, it will force Republicans to advance a conservative agenda. No more excuses about Dass-hole.

If they win, and fail to advance a conservative agenda, they will be exposed for the fraud which many believe them to be. Perhaps then, a grassroots movement will emerge to retake the Republican party.

We should not have lost some of those seats in past elections which should become clearer one of these days why.

What I do know is that everyone of us that wants the RATs out of control has to roll up our sleeves and work to get Republicans elected. We cannot give ms. clinton her victory in November because they will embolden her and that is the last thing we need.

You will see a different Bush Agenda if we take control of the Senate -- Conservatives will be truly in charge of the Senate this time!

Vote fraud, no doubt about it.

But the GOP hasn't done anything to prevent that in future elections. I thought that after the documented cases of fraud during the last election (Wisconsin, St. Louis, etc....) that the GOP (since they controlled many state legislatures) would crack down on it.

I anticipate the voter fraud will get only worse as long as our borders remain open.

This is what people do not understand. Even if you win victories in court, that doesn't mean jack squat. Think about this: The SC just OK'd vouchers. Do you see all of a sudden the public education system privatized? Even if SC overturns Roe v Wade, nothing will result. If you want to change anything, you have to change the legislature. People like Liddy Dole are not going to bring about any legislative changes which are badly needed to roll back the welfare state. You will never get the SC roll back the welfare state. You will need to change the lawmakers, and I am sure Liddy Dole isn't it.
