As well you should.
Will you check out post #4 by BillyBoy? Here we go again...its all of us Conservatives having doubts about Bush's policies in some areas who are now trying to bring down FR and ruin JR! Will you please do something about these people? I love FR but I am tired of being attacked just because I'm not a BOT! THAT is what will bring down FR, not anti-Freepers, not disruptors etc. Those are easy to recognize. It's the Bot crowd's intolerance for any but their narrow view that will do it. Long live FR and JR!
Would you like me to hurl an epithet at you? I don't think so.
People who attack the President in derogatory terms have to understand they are going to make people angry. This is different from a DISCUSSION of issues, which apparently those of us on the America-The Right Way thread are able to do.
We have a lot of anti-Bush people here who begin their criticisms with inflammatory rhetoric, and then when they are answered by Bush supporters they accuse us of being nasty.
My opinion, for what it's worth.
What's a BOT in your opinion?
Interesting accusation because I did not mention Bush ONCE in post #4 or said in any way that Freepers had to support him. I did make an indirect reference to Buchanan in a later reply to DoughtyOne, where I clearly pointed out that I was NOT saying that Buchanan supporters were disruptors. Evidentially, he understands that and you don't
It's ironic that you accuse me of being a Bushbot when I just got flamed by a couple of hard-core Bush supporters a few days ago for saying I would probably vote for Tancredo in the 2004 primary if Bush keeps up his current immigration policy. Clearly you know nothing about my beliefs or my posts. (BTW, I'm a longtime freeper and supported Forbes during the 2000 primary-- not Bush!)
I am a Republican voter, apprently that offends you. I'm not a STRAIGHT ticket Republican voter, although certainly, I like to associate with other GOP voters on this forum. It's unfortunate you take that as an attack. I don't have a problem with most 3rd party folks on this forum-- let me state that for a third time on this thread since you didn't seem to notice the last two times.
On the other hand, when I see threads where so-called "conservatives" say they want Janet Reno to defeat Jeb Bush as Governor of Florida, I do have a problem with that. When I see "conservatives" attack Bush for being "a tool of big oil" (an accusation used BY liberals instead of an object to Bush for doing something liberal) I have a problem with that. When I see threads praising Robert Byrd, I have a problem with that. When I see threads trying to convince folks that Roy Barnes is a "consevative" Democrat (when everyone knows he's not) I have a problem with that. And when I see "conservatives" crusify Mark Easley for meeting regularlly with the NAACP-- and then those same "conservatives" PROMOTE an NAACP member in a mayoral race, I do have a problem with that. I find it pretty fishy that those so-called "consevatives" would hold these beliefs. Either they are incrediby detached from reality or they are liberal disruptors. So I suggest keeping an eye on them.
Oh, and your thread attacking me? I have a problem that. I'll state for the record that I don't believe you're a disruptor at all. More like a crybaby.
I think you are right in saying that the attitude you discribe will eventually hurt Free Republic. If this site is indeed solely for the glorification of our President, then I think it should be stated as such.
I was reading the other day about quotes by Sean Hannity about Free Republic, and I couldnt believe the way that Conservatives were attacking a fellow Conservative like Hannity in a way that can only hurt the reputation of members here.
I must say that I have never seen Liberals attack each other so openly and publically for daring to disagree in the way that I have seen here. I come here for news that I might not find elsewhere, and it would be a shame if this web site were discredited as a place for like-minds only.
