As a side, I believe there was some antifreeper activity concerning this event in SC. If I am not mistaken, they mentioned a campaign of writing letters to Sauls and Harris urging them not to attend.

While it is true that this was happening, I simply reject that as an argument. The event's organizers threw out the names of Harris & Sauls at the very beginning of hyping the event, for purposes of promotion and driving up attendance. It was only at the very last minute they finally acknowledged that neither would attend. To me, this smacks of fraud.

The rest of their actions have already been documented. I for one would be more than happy to talk to S.C. law enforcement officials, since I still have copies of everything I've received --- including a freepmail just two days before leaving for S.C. myself that both Sauls and Harris would be there --- when I already knew --- and had it confirmed by a S.C. chapter member, that this would not be the case.

Sorry Bob, it's fraud ... plain and simple. It was deliberate, and FR was duped into being used as a promotional vehicle for the event. I knew it then, I know it now.

I read your original post and frankly it resembled a good many AFer posts that have been placed on the forum recently.  You went into great detail how you were upset at the activities of the chapter in question and made note that at least Jim had followed your advice

I jumped into the fray among other things because of this one phrase toward the end.

I won't hold my breath waiting for an apology from the people who trashed me when I called the event into question, because frankly none of them are big enough to apologize. But YOU I'll gladly stand by.

Can't tell you how many times over the years I've seen someone go after one aspect of this forum or it's interests only to end up with, and I'm Jim Robinson's bosom buddy.

Well, in fairness, I cannot blame you for my error.  I did mistake your post for an AFer post and wish that I could take back the things I said during our exchange.  They were wrong.  I was wrong.  Diotima tried to warn me, and I misunderstood the impact of her statement as well.  So your comments about comprehension were rather accurate, were they not.

I have determined that when I see AFers in the future I'm going after them.  That's why I let loose on you.  Let's just hope I tee of on the real thing next time.

LOL! OK...maybe tomorrow we can discuss the steel quota, or the education bill. I have had two martinis tonight so I am not in tip-top form.

I am trying to remember when the tone got so rancourous around here, and it seems to me this started back during the primaries of 2000. It now ebbs and flows according to the events of the day.

I also think that there are some here who are not really interested in debating the issues, but rather are interested in dividing us, and pulling support away from the President. There seem to be quite a few posts from new people that never actually have anything to say other than the same slogans, over and over again.

It is almost like they have a cheat sheet of phrases that they use to sound like a conservative, similar to the seminar callers on C-SPAN. Two years ago I would have thought this was a silly notion, but as our numbers and influence have increased I am thinking this is a real possibility.

That was very cheritable of you Torie. My biggest concern when I blow it is that people won't return to the scene of the crime and see my admission. Both of you showed a lot of class with your comments. I am in your debt.

We have a lot of anti-Bush people here who begin their criticisms with inflammatory rhetoric, and then when they are answered by Bush supporters they accuse us of being nasty.

We also have a few that start their anti government/Bush trash talk and then claim we "misunderstood them" when their lies are exposed. (personal experience with a few)

BTW, I'm not necessarily a Bush Bot but I am a JIMROBBOT. God bless Jim and FR.

Jim, there are so many who would pervert a good thing into their thing. It reminds me of the character who founded the Mormons. He was a Free Mason who tried to turn the organization into a religion, so they threw him out. He went on to take the rituals of Free Masonry and base the Mormon "Secret" Rituals on them. Masons are still paying the price for that.

Both claims are untrue. Which is why JR:

1.Put the kibosh on the Mormon bashing threads.
2. Put the kibosh on the Mason bashing threads.

You're support is appreciated. By JimRob, and all who post here...even myself. However, making claims like these does not help your credibility.
