Off-Duty Bush Home on the Range

CRAWFORD, Texas –– President Bush is filthy, his wrist is bleeding and sweat is dripping from his chin. But he is exuberant as he hauls freshly cut cedar to a burn pile.

"We're lifting weights!" he says, a thick log on each shoulder. Throwing them onto the pyramid, he cries: "Oh, baby!"

This is Bush Unplugged at the Texas ranch he loves. It is the president in his anti-Washington mode, in a world where he can roam canyons, jog across the open prairie, fish for bass and rescue his beloved oak trees from the suffocating cedar.

Excellent point. My bet is that neither the Goron nor the Hildebeast nor many of the so called "environmentally friendly" Demonazi pols have the ability to identify trees like this supposedly anti-enviral President. See this sentence from the W. Post article linked above:

"He heads into a wonderland of limestone canyons, slow-moving creeks and trees he fluently identifies: cedar elms, bois d'arcs, burr, live and lacey oaks."

I think the President impressed Scott Laidlaw with his knowledge of trees, with his jogging speed, and with the pure joy he has - genuine joy - in this hot dusty beautiful place - AND in his work ethic even while on vacation. (Mr. Laidlaw didn't say as much out right - but it comes through clearly enough that I am sure the Hildebeast's propaganda office will be giving him a call to fully excoriate him for his "Bush friendly" report.) Too bad, Hilly - even the "enemy press" - the ones who are open and honest (how many are there of these? Mr. Laidlaw could be one?) cannot help but admire this President!

I love this President! His joy at being in his home and on his ranch make me smile. Most of the press just doesn't get it about him. He doesn't care what they say about Texas or about his moving his office to Crawford. I loved the comment about Martha's Vinyard and the swilling of white wine. Scott Lindlaw probably has 14 messages on his cell phone about how he better not stray from the reservation again! Hillary will not stand for this! Hehehehe...

So do I! (love this President!)

So does most of this country's citizens---despite everything the presstitutes orchestrated by Hitlery throws at him!

"I loved the comment about Martha's Vinyard and the swilling of white wine. Scott Lindlaw probably has 14 messages on his cell phone about how he better not stray from the reservation again! Hillary will not stand for this! "

So did I! And, no she won't. Mr. Laidlaw will be told if he does this again, he will be mopping floors rather than doing reporting for any of "their" companies.

From the article: Also under this rim is a rattlesnake. Bush directs an aide to throw a rock toward it, without hitting it, so he can determine which way the snake will head when disturbed. The snake slithers up into a nook and coils into a defensive posture before the president moves on.

Interesting. A subtle reference to the "evil doers"? Probably not intentional. Just a refreshing insight into his philosophy.

Oooooh SSSShoot, Oh Dear. LOL. I hate to say it but I'm thinking positively unpresidential thoughts about my president. I want one of those t-shirts he is wearing. LOL

Thanks for the ping. I love this article. There's a REAL grownup man in our White House. Bush promised to bring back honor to the presidency, and he is doing exactly that!

While Libs are drinking lattes, eating sushi, and engaging in "intellectual" discourse about some hauty article in the New Yorker or the New York Times written by some sophisticated poser, Bush is clearing trees with a chainsaw in some hot, dusty canyon while chewing bubble gum.
Beautifully said. I like this good man more and more! He loves his home.

Sometimes I wonder if billy and hillary have ever had a home of their own that they love. Something important and telling is missing in their make-ups.

Let them swill their white wines and discuss the crudeness of a hot, large, open rance far away from a metropolitan area, let them mock our President for doing real work none of them could handle for 15 minutes on a cool day, and let them attempt to diminish our President with their snide remarks. (Who will ever forget that filthy witch standing on the senate floor and stating that President Bush knew of the upcoming Sept 11 attacks-something so horrific and telling I can no longer even look at a photo of that creepy power mad witch.)

Let them have their depraved fun. It really is all that they have. For their hearts and minds are empty.

"Wrong! He'd be doing that whether the cameras were there or not."

I agree. Whenever I see pictures like these, I ask myself if he would be doing this kind of stuff if he WASN'T President. I know it was never believable to see X42 doing ANYTHING besides looking down cleavages and skarfing BigMacs. Would he have been doing those photo-oppy things if he HADN'T been President?
