It appears that the Clintons are not the only ones publicly twisting the truth into unrecognizable shapes. Their flunky, Al the bore Gore, was doing a bit of his own dismantling of the facts in a New York Times op-ed last Sunday.(1) What Gore does not seem to realize is that anyone remembering a little history probably thought this was a parody article. For instance, he opens with:
"There has always been a debate over the destiny of this nation between those who believed they were entitled to govern because of their station in life, and those who believed that the people were sovereign. That distinction remains as strong as ever today. In every race this November, the question voters must answer is, How do we make sure that political power is used for the benefit of the many, rather than the few?"
One thing the Gore family never properly explained was their relationship with communist sympathizer Armand Hammer. Hammer had extensive import-export dealings with the Soviet Union and personally negotiated with Premier Lenin during the 1920's. Later, Hammer went into the oil business and became head of the Occidental Petroleum Corporation.
What we need to know is how extensive Hammer's support to the Gores' was -- both in campaign contributions and personal contributions. Because, it always seemed that the Gore family lived a lifestyle well above their reported income.
Then, there were the back room deals Clinton and Gore made with corporations like Loral so they could sell high-tech electronics to the communist Chinese. And, of course both Clinton and Gore collected kickbacks from the communist Chinese -- lots of illegal funds changed hands, according to the Senate committee investigating the fundraising scams.(2)
This is how Al Gore makes sure "that political power is used for the benefit of the many, rather than the few." The many, in Gore-speak must be politicians. Gore talks like a collectivist but acts like a Clinton. He probably spent too much time hanging around with the likes of Armand Hammer when he was young. Those eight years with Bill Clinton couldn't have helped his character, either.
But the babble continues:
"I believe Bill Clinton and I were right to maintain, during our 1992 campaign, that we should fight for 'the forgotten middle class' against the 'forces of greed.' Standing up for 'the people, not the powerful' was the right choice in 2000. And, in fact, it is the Democratic Party's meaning and mission."
Not reported was the number of middle class workers who saw their jobs move across the border. It's hard to blame the corporations for escaping the constant barrage of oppressive high taxes and overbearing regulations that increased exponentially during the Clinton years. Just Gore's environmental nonsense was enough to drive some corporations away.
Gore goes on to make silly accusations about Bush and Cheney. Then Gore opines, "what is far more important than the pursuit of a few bad apples in the White House is the need to recognize that what has been put at risk is nothing less than the future of democratic capitalism. And it cannot be rejuvenated unless the people and the politicians focus on the question: What is good for the whole?"
What would be "good for the whole" would be for the federal government to start doing those jobs tasked to it by the Constitution and stay the hell out of everything else. That way we could reduce our tax burden by about two thirds and delete those hidden taxes caused by regulations enough that prices would drop significantly. Business would expand, jobs would be more plentiful and all Americans would benefit equally. That is what is good for the whole -- the collective whole.
The problem is that neither the Gores nor the Clintons will ever realize these simple facts. Government to them is a business. Government is a business that produces wealth for the select few -- they come to Washington nearly broke and leave millionaires.
That's a shame in itself. But, the bigger shame is that they also believe that the product of the business of government is strict control over the people. We are but the proletariat in their socialist-fascist minds.
Al Gore obviously plans to run for president yet again. That will be his third attempt. What he does not yet realize is that the American people now understand how dense he really is. Which means, unless Bush repeatedly fumbles the ball in the next two years, Gore cannot expect to get even 30% of the vote.
The problem with that is, Hillary will pop up next.

Was Gore talking about the Travel Office employees, you know, those middle-class workers that he ran out of office so that his rich and powerful friends could middleman on lucrative White House travel bookings.

I've learned a great deal since then, but I still cannot fathom how anyone on this planet could ever trust Al Gore with the presidency. He isn't a terrible human being, he isn't vicious and calculating or coldly ambitious. The problem is.....he isn't playing with a full deck.

Some people will no doubt object to this column. After all, you're not supposed to speak ill of the dead -- especially the recent dead. But with all the flowery tributes to Al Gore Sr. in the last few days, I figure somebody has to speak the truth about this man who, in his lifetime, collaborated with and profited handsomely from evil.
Vice President Al Gore eulogized his father Tuesday as a politician driven by "conscience" who never forgot his humble upbringing and always tried to help others.
"Dad, your whole life has been an inspiration,'' Gore said, his voice cracking slightly.
I believe Al Jr. when he says that. And it scares the hell out of me.
To appreciate what I'm about to tell you with regard to Al Gore Sr., you first must familiarize yourself with a man by the name of Armand Hammer -- worth more than a few columns himself.
Hammer was a personal friend of V.I. Lenin. He was known as Lenin's "path" to America's financial resources -- in other words, the guy who would sell us the rope with which we would be hanged. Hammer was the first Western businessman to participate in KGB-controlled joint ventures in the Soviet Union. The son of Julius Hammer, a founder of the Socialist Labor Party and later the Communist Party USA who served time in Sing Sing for performing illegal abortions, Armand was called the "Capitalist Prince" by the KGB. Hammer dutifully served the Soviets for seven decades and became the first -- and only -- American capitalist to be awarded the Order of Lenin.
Edward J. Epstein's "Dossier: The Secret History of Armand Hammer" is must reading for anyone who wants to understand how so-called "capitalists" like Hammer can serve as willing and able tools of revolutionary Marxists and global socialists.
Lenin told Stalin about Hammer: "This is a small path leading to the American 'business' world, and this path should be made use of in every way." To the Soviet Union in his day, Hammer was a figure with much in common with the contemporary spy-cum-billionaire Mochtar Riady -- doing the bidding of socialist tyrants -- and making a bundle in the process.
Hammer was part-time spy, part-time money-launderer, part-time industrialist -- but a full-time traitor to the United States of America.
But I digress. The story for today is how Hammer's corrupt, evil career was aided in numerous ways by Vice President Al Gore's Daddy, who was a partner in various Hammer enterprises for more than four decades. As Epstein documents in "Dossier," the elder Gore helped Hammer make connections with a series of U.S. presidents and used his influence to help Hammer's Occidental Petroleum company gain access to foreign political leaders. But, most importantly, it was Gore who helped stop the FBI from pursuing an investigation of the industrialist as a Soviet agent of influence.
It seems Al Gore Sr. knew something about "controlling legal authorities" and obstruction of justice himself. Like father, like son.
Conscience? Humble beginnings? When the elder Gore retired from the Senate, he received a $500,000-a-year job as head of Occidental's coal division. So, it would seem, the cleanest money in Al Gore's family tree came from tobacco. The really dirty, blood money came direct from Moscow for services rendered to Communist totalitarians and their pseudo-capitalist puppet, errand boys. Tell me about conscience, Al.
After the younger Gore was elected to the Senate in 1980, he continued a tradition begun by his father by inviting Hammer into the "senators only" section during President Reagan's inauguration.
Al Jr. has emulated his Dad in other ways, too. Today he serves as co-chairman of an Russian-U.S. commission intended to help the next generation of Armand Hammer-style "Capitalist Princes" develop contacts with KGB-dominated businesses.
In 1994, the vice president established U.S.-Russian Joint Commission on Economic and Technical Cooperation, better known as the Gore-Chernomyrdin Commission. The purpose of the commission is to help establish joint ventures in space exploration, science and technology, defense conversion, environmental initiatives, public health issues, agribusiness and economic development. The Russian side of this equation is littered with shadowy figures with one foot in the intelligence community and the other in mob-related activities.

Gore's Dad Ordered Him to Seek White House, Book Alleges
When then-Tennessee Senator Albert Gore Jr. made his first bid for the White House in 1988, it was after his father, Albert Gore Sr., ordered him to do so, a new book on the vice president alleges.
"I want to see you elected president before I die," Gore Sr. told his 38-year-old son in a heart-to-heart conversation during the 1986 Christmas break, reports Washington Post writer David Maraniss in his new biography, "The Prince of Tennessee: The Rise of Al Gore."
Maraniss reveals that Gore's father "took his son downstairs alone, and simply told him" that he wanted him to run for president while he was still alive, putting immense pressure on the young politician to launch his premature 1988 White House bid. Gore Sr. died in 1998.
The insider information comes from more than 300 interviews Maraniss conducted for his book, including four lengthy sit-downs with the vice president himself. What reportedly emerges is a portrait of a dutiful son who idolized his father and would do anything to please him.
The image of Gore as a "Daddy's boy" is particularly intriguing in light of similar charges leveled recently by President Clinton - not at Gore, but at GOP presidential candidate George W. Bush.
The week before the GOP convention Clinton characterized Bush's rationale for making his own White House bid with these words:
"The message of the Bush campaign is just that, 'How bad can I be? I've been governor of Texas. My daddy was president. ..."
