I will never understand why Traficant is so popular on this website. (Sure he's colorful but look at his voting record) People like to bash Republicans but love moderate Democrats like Traficant and Zell Miller, go figure.

But in reality, he is not that popular. Most freepers would lock him away and throw away the key.

His voting record should be an embarassment to all those who worship him.

He was pro-abortion. Pro-taxpayer-funding of abortion. Pro-NEA. Anti-impeachment of Bill Clinton.

I think his supporters would support Tom, Ted and Hillary if they beat up on Janet Reno.

What does any congressman do for their district? They all take a slice of the pie, including Jim, but few are worth it.

Gingrich 'nationalized' the congress to work for the good of the nation. Traficant is one of the few that did that over his party, espescially in the case of protection from the IRS.

Just like 'liberals', IMO and as Rush often says, you can't vote him out so you have the 'courts' do it. Beam me up.
