Posting this for fellow FReepers who like to discuss, argue, rant, whatever.

What you see here is an excerpt from a fairly long webpage. I found a lot of it interesting and well thought-out, although I am not in total agreement with the author.

Here's another link to the website.

CREATIONISM/EVOLUTION?

Have fun folks.

Information suggested lacks serious comprehension of biology, genetics, chemistry, physics, paleology, statistics, and evolution theory and fails to utilize present known information in all these areas.
Yo dude. Get a doctorate in medicine and then sit down with a good book like Eugene. O. Wilsons', On Human Nature, or Dawkins', The Selfish Gene, or Carl Sagans', The Shadow of Ancient Ancestors. Read the Bible and take every mention of the lord or God out of the text. Then you will begin to gain real wisdom.
Sorry guy but if you pray to God to save you where no doctor can, then you failed in life twice.
If you come to me I will give you the best shot at curing the incurable just like Jesus Christ, except better. Just one problem for you. I find the cures through evolution and it works 100% of the time in predicting stealth infection where the medical profession has totally blundered. I got a pill and you got a God. My pill will beat your prayer to God 99.999% of the time.
You see with the technology we have now we can cure many diseases that have been overlooked. Surely the great majority of arthritis, autoimmune disorders, heart problems are within reach now as infection problems never seen before. To find them you must know evolution. To get treatment you must look at the evidence and understand how we predict disease through evolutionary prediction.
What this means is with the advent of a whole new field of medicine which is the study of sub-acute chronic stealth infection you are about to be given a choice. You can choose evolution and be saved or stay with your God, your contemporary physician and your sorry education and drop dead... literally.

Take my hand and be saved...
Or stay with your God and die... painfully.
Human revolution is, after all, a painful process.
Believe in what you can't see but know is there and alive, or believe in what is not there and chase phantoms and die. The majority of medicine is fraudulent phantoms, shadows of the real. If you chase the phantoms you die.

Evolution works.... always. 100% And it is my God. It allows me to do what none of you can with your God. When you get sick and no one can help you... I'll be waiting with my God and I will give you the life or death choice to make.

I've seen evolutionists spout that their theory doesn't work against the bible, because it doesn't give you a timeline. But the one argument I've never heard anyone answer is, if all life and matter exploded from a thimble full of matter and over billions of years planets, stars and eventually life formed, who made the thimble full of matter?

Uniformitarian Geology: Erosion, and sedimentation have always taken place at more or less the same rate as is average today. It was believed that great floods and other events that would deposit many layers of sediment in a short time had not happened.

Merely a starting point for geologists. We know for a fact that local floods do occur and they deposit sequences known as turbidites. Do a little more research.

A good summary of how scientific facts have disproven evolution.

Truly pathetic stuff. If the web site is more of the same, there's no need to read it.

Before the theory most people believed that God had created.

This statement raises an interessting question. If we used to belive in the creation described in genisis, we did we switch to evolution?

Maybe because as we discovered more of earth and the animal kingdom we learned that life on our planet is not static but ever changing? We found fossils of animals which dont exist anyomre and we found animals living today with a short past, that is a "young species". The answer to these question are not written down in the bible but in the genetic code and the enviroment acting upon it.

If we want to know more about the world around us, if we want to satisfy our (god given?) curiosity we just have to look around and sometimes dig through dirt and we may know the answers someday. Or maybe not. Sitting around reading through the bible may be good for spiritual matters, but not if want to learn more about such mundane things as physics or biology.
