Informal Poll: Should Jim Robinson make money from FR?
Today, don't ask me to be more specific.. | Jhoffa_X

Posted on 08/06/2002 4:02:40 PM PDT by Jhoffa_

I am sick of the whining about FR's finances.

Free Republic has become the Rush Limbaugh of the internet and all this complaining about who is doing what and profiting thus is making me Ill. It's a circular argument and I am tired of it.

Real Conservatives reward success. We honor it.

As a final end to this:

Would you oppose or favor Mr. Robinson making a profit from FR.

Good grief. I'm appalled at the audacity of such a question. It is absolutely none of my business or that of anyone else what the man does with his site. It is his site for God's sake. If a few whining freeloaders don't like it here they need to go somewhere else or better yet try starting their own site. You know it is really too bad all the Einsteins who know so danged much about how to run this country and FR are just too busy sitting before their computers whining and scratching their behinds all the blessed day.

For the record... Yes, I hope he earns a ton of money. FR is great.

Great, and I say increase the fundraising goals and give yourself a big fat raise. I don't claim to speak for everybody, but I believe most of us make our monthly contributions with the assumption and hope that you and your family are adequately provided for. I, for one, would be very upset to learn otherwise.

No, it's not.. everything should be free.

Look, the A-F's will set you straight on this.. There is nor should there be a profit.

It's a bad thing. Ask them and see..

Who's getting paid other than Jim and his family (enought to keep a roof over his head and food in his belly) to keep FR running?

I don't know, and therein lies the problem. Can you give me a link to a page that gives detailed FR tax returns, with salaries, expense accounts, and the like? Unless you come completely clean, there's always that nagging doubt, "Hmm, I wonder what they are doing with all that money."

Just be honest and up front about it.

Should he? I don't know. Could he? Yes.

I think he should. But with it being at contribution based business, it's hard to see that he could.

Now if he got his own line of salsa, tee shirts, pistol targets, etc. he might stand a chance.

Why should you care?

What business of it is your if Mr. Robinson is flying a lear or starving in a cardboard box?

Just to be honest, since you post here, and are so inquisitive, about others personal information, why not post yours? You don't have to offer a dime to this site, why would you demand such information?

No, you haven't 'missed my reply' you twit, -- answering stupid questions is not high on my list.

- This forum is JR's business. After his business expenses, he tries to live on the profit.
I hope he lives well.
-- Why ANYone would question such obvious facts is beyond me.

Good..
I figured you would fall in the "yes" column..

Good..
I figured, seeing that you're a twit, - that you would ignore being called one for demanding I answer the same silly question three times in row. - Thanks

No, no... You are supporting YOUR voice Alissa.

No, I don't agree it's my voice - it's the voice of conservatives, I support.

I detest the name calling, which is all too much on this site! Because someone doesn't agree with your opinion does not mean they are an idiot. You can't believe how many times I've been so angry that I've almost withdrawn my support due to a nasty personality (which is when I feel like I'm subsidizing the idiot voice). I'm not a frequent poster, so I have not experienced it very often, but I have witnessed it often.

I only offer this as advice. Paying customers are not going to be very tolerant to insults! Most of the time, I just don't care to get into a snit with someone once I know we're not going to fundamentally agree. Most Freepers are intelligent enough that you know quickly if this is ignorance or just a difference in beliefs/opinions.
