Truth be told, it makes me a little ill to see GWB take a month off. Truth be told, do you really think the President of the United States really gets any time "off?"
To: Freedom4UsAll
You don't seriously think he is taking a month off? The president of the US never gets any time off, no matter where he is, be it Washington DC or his ranch in Texas. Same goes for any other president this country has ever had. Regardless of the significance or insignificance of your job, at least when you take a week off, you get the week off. Our president does not.

i'm aware it's a working vacation but just as i think congress gets too much vacation it would "look" better if he spent less time away from DC. this just plays into the hands of democrats et al. who are anti-bush.

i'm aware it's a working vacation but just as i think congress gets too much vacation... I would strongly disagree that Congress gets "too much vacation." Rather I would like to see them limit their sessions to about four months out of the year and become "citizen legislators" again.
We're much safer when they're out of town...

You have a very good point there

I agree with what you've posted. I'm supposed to believe that Bush is just going to close down shop and not be POTUS for a month? Get real.

Oops, sorry about that double post.

Good grief! You really thing he is goin' home an' kickin' back? If you take the time to read a little, you will find that the Presidency is a job that will not be denied. Even Clinton had to pay attention to it, albeit with one eye on the helmlines.
The President may be leaving Washington, but he is damned sure taking the office with him.

I'm for ay - maybe six or seven months off.

When is this supposed vacation? I saw him live on teevee today addressing the folks in Pennsylvania and they said he was planning to meet with the rescued miners. Is he on vacation today????

Still, I'd think he'd realize how the media would spin this. Camp David might have seemed less cavalier. I mean, we are at war, right?Who cares how the media will spin this. They wouldn't complain if he went to the Hamptons or some other trendy place. They hate being in Texas and want us to think President Bush will only be able to communicate with the outside world with smoke signals or tin cans and string.
It doesn't matter if a president is actually in the White House or not. He still has everything available to him.

Thanks Salvation. I'm computer impaired.
President Bush's "vacation" has many appearances and speeches scheduled.
KXL has many conservative talk hosts but, must have a nice bunch of liberals in the office making up the questions. The way it is phrased leads uninformed to say "NO, he shouldn't be on a long vacation." Just typical push/pull question.
