Oregon Firefighters set own blazes in bid to corral wildfires

Apparently they started the backfires yesterday evening after the winds died down.

Hopefully this will work.

Finding updated news, this morning is lean. Most of the agencies don't put up new data until 10 AM.

Again, all locals are requested to post what they hear on their local radio stations or see.

The news last night said the wind will be picking up today.
They also had a piece on how the fires are named. They name the fire after the place where the fire started. It's been confusing...Florence is on the coast about 125 miles from where the Florence fire is located.
Just a bit of trivia to get your morning started. ;o)

This is the number 1 fire in the United States at this time with 17,000 innocents in harms way.

Those of the 17,000 who haven't left the Illinois River Valley area yet are on a 30 minute warning basis. If the the evacuation is called, they have 30 minutes to get out of there.

Lets pray that the back fires will work, and that these 17,000 people didn't wait too long to get out of there.

I think that they named this fire the Florence Fire to miss lead people.

The card carrying green freaks in the Floristry Service did not want to say that the Kalmiopsis Wilderness Area was burning. It was/is burning because of the ONRC/Andy Kerr green thugs's agenda in this area.

That agenda was no logging, close the roads in the area, no brush removal. If the Floristry Service did any work in this area, they had to pack in their hand tools (no chain saws) on their backs or on pack animals.

You can imagine what would happen in area that gets 50 to 100 inches of rain each rainy season and has warm summers to make trees and brush grow.

There has been massive growth of trees, massive dead trees, dead brush, no roads, and live brush that keeps even big Elk out of some areas this past decade.

Now, 17,000 innocent Oregonians are paying for the green eco terrorism agenda of Kerr/the ONRC/?.

So they picked the name Florence Fire to miss lead people.

I'm down in the wine country of Kali and in safety as of now.

These fires in Oregon have put on hold some planned fly fishing trips to areas around fires.

However, we have a number of freepers who live near this fire or are visiting/vacationing near it.

So we pray for their safety, the 17,000 innocents living in the Illinois River Valley where this blaze is burning, and the brave fire fighters who are trying to save those people, their homes, business, pets and farm animals.

This is monstrous - vermin getting people to leave so they can loot their homes! I guess it's a sign of the times, isn't it. Anytime there's a disaster, the scum of the earth finds a way to profit from other people's misery.

Grampa, thank you - you're doing a wonderful job keeping us up to the minute. A lot of people that I work with were born and raised in the beautiful Pacific Northwest (as was Mr. Inspectorette - Camas, WA). They all still have family up there, and the concern is great.
