(AgapePress) - The chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court says he supports a court decision that denied child custody rights to a woman because she is a lesbian.
Chief Justice Roy Morre -- in an opinion backing the unanimous decision -- said the homosexual conduct of a parent "creates a strong presumption of unfitness that alone is sufficient justification for denying that parent custody of his or her own children or prohibiting the adoption of the children of others." His opinion continued:
"In this case there is undisputed evidence that the mother of the minor children not only dated another woman, but lived with that woman, shared a bed with her, and had an intimate physical and sexual relationship with her.
...But Alabama expressly does not recognize same-sex marriages or domestic partnerships.
...Homosexual conduct is, and has been, considered abhorrent, immoral, detestable, a crime against nature, and a violation of the laws of nature and of nature's God upon which this Nation and our laws are predicated. Such conduct violates both the criminal and civil laws of this State and is destructive to a basic building block of society -- the family. The law of Alabama is not only clear in its condemning such conduct, but the courts of this State have consistently held that exposing a child to such behavior has a destructive and seriously detrimental effect on the children. It is an inherent evil against which children must be protected."

Clearly Shown? Bull, this woman did the usual attempt to drag this man in the gutter. It was her that was shown to be sick and none of the crap you stated above stuck whatsoever. None of it. They tried every trick in the book and could not pull one hard fact out.
We here in Alabama have followed this (yes it is somewhat old news now) pretty closely. You should see all the whining the ACLU, Black Senators, Liberals, Gay groups and such of the same namesake have spouted. Pretty much the same as you have. But very funny, your spout did not mention the liberal judges did completely agree with the republicans on this matter. (most of the whining has been on Judge Moore's review of the case in which he stated why he voted the way he did). If there had been one shread of truth to this father abuse the liberals would of voted for the gay mother. But as you can tell, there was not one vote for her cause. They served justice that day IMHO.
Now they have the opportunity to be abused by a good old fashioned God fearing Alabama redneck....
Where in the article did it say the kid is now going to be "abused" by a redneck?
Or did you just make that up in an attempt to find something worse than being raised by an openly practicing homosexual?
Which do you assert does the abuse, the redneck or the Christian? Or is it just when the two are mixed? What is your definition of a redneck btw? The Bible lays down the best way to raise a family in my opinion, sorry if you don't subscribe to it.
Even if you're right regarding the case at hand, this is a refrain which you offer a lot.
What is that?
What kind of punishment do you subscribe to for children? Are you the type that screams bloody murder of Christian chastisment. (ie. the rod).
Why should I search a 53 page document to find evidence to support your argument?
If you can't document your claims here don't expect me to do your work for you. Sorry.
I have four sisters. My hubby has four sisters. All but five of my sixteen cousins are women. I even have some real live women friends. Any number of our clients are women. I even walk through the courthouse with them. Remind me never to walk with any of them if you're around. We could be accused of being "domestic partners," lesbians, queers or worse.
Being raised in a queer household is about as bad (IMO) as being abused sexually or mentally.
Do you know any Christian-Conservative queers?
