All he really had to do was to get his cousin and wife to refuse to testify.

Considering his status as family gravy train, that probably wasn't too hard.

Black conservative ping

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

This whole Iverson matter turned into a circus. According to a report in the Inquirer, there were EIGHT detectives assigned to this case - whereas another person in a similar situation (that was more serious) had one detective show up and then never return her calls. And the Philly media, true to form, was all over this like flies on manure.

Having said that, Iverson's gotta grow up as well. Charles Barkley is well-accustomed to the Philly media, and after he ragged them out he gave some advice to Iverson, that Barkley had received from Clarence Thomas - don't give them the hammer to hit you with...

I have said since day one, that he would NEVER see a day in jail and it would be dropped for the reasons some of you have cited here. $$$ gravy train. Simple as that.

Felony charges dropped against Iverson

By Jacqueline Soteropoulos
Philadelphia Inquirer

A judge this afternoon threw out all criminal charges except one misdemeanor count against 76ers superstar Allen Iverson.

Iverson was arrested earlier this month for allegedly storming into his cousin's West Philadelphia apartment with a gun and threatening two men while looking for his wife.

The only charge left standing by Municipal Court Judge James DeLeon was one of terroristic threats.

The ruling came after a chaotic six-hour preliminary hearing that featured testimony from Iverson's two accusers and his cousin, Shaun Bowman.

Iverson, 27, was arrested on 14 felony and misdemeanor charges, including assault, terroristic threats and weapons offenses. Iverson's uncle, who allegedly accompanied him, was also charged.

One of the men who accused Allen Iverson of threatening him with a gun changed his story during testimony today.

Under questinonning by Iverson attorney Richard Sprague, Hakim Carey said he did not see Iverson brandish a gun when Iverson and his uncle showed up at the apartment in the early morning hours of July 3.

Carey said that his friend, Charles Jones, told him to back up Jones' story that Iverson had a gun.

Jones was on the stand later in the day and denied that he had told Carey what to say to police.

Attorneys for Iverson and his uncle had maintained their clients were not guilty.

The old saying: "Invest in America - Buy a Congressman". Or "America - The best Government MONEY can buy". Take your pick. Now in the case of the Klintoons - it's the best government blakmailers can buy. And one says the pledge of allegiance "...with liberty & JUSTICE for all... (Some justices are just more powerful & rich). BYW any IRS audits on Jessie HighJackson? Anybody seen Robert Rubin testifying?

Sad and pathetic. Money talks.

The cousin's roommate is the one who called 911 when Iverson busted in with the gun after throwing his wife out of the house, naked. The cousin was also on the record saying that Iverson had a gun, since he too was threatened. After some long talks with Iverson, or AI, as his mother calls him, the cousin was now on Iverson's side and through the roommate into the streets.

As I said, this is sad and pathetic. Iverson is a thug.

No doubt the judge has a sports bias in favor of THE GANGBANGER IN A BASKETBALL UNIFORM.Would'nt doubt there was a payoff either.
