After a year of quiet negotiations, Sacramento city and county officials this week unveiled a landmark agreement that would open 10,000 acres of Natomas farmland to development, while preserving 10,000 acres of open space along the Sacramento River and around Sacramento International Airport.

Buy real estate in Davis, CA. It is a good investment. Many positive aspects - no negatives. Enjoy.

At the same time, the county would purchase land from property owners for open space buffers, often a mile wide along the Sacramento River and Sutter County line.
Purchase land from property owners for open space buffers. Nice. Wonder how many of those property owners are going to be willing sellers?

Sac. City, at one piont, was trying to comdemn 9 parcels from 5 different owners because they didn't want to pay for the development rights. It must be noted that the Conservancy refuses to give up development rights on the land it owns in this area.

They tried to get okay for a planned community in Sutter County a few years back.Voters blocked it as I recall. Man that was a nasty fight on both sides.

Seems I've alread posted an article about this. It does mention the meeting on the 20th. I guess the vote will be taken on Sept. 17th so I'd like to have protester on the 20th but we should put the push on for a crowd on the 17th. Perhaps the modesto crowd would drive up for that one. I'd like to see this get bit and could be a great precursor to the Convoy rally on Sept 30th.
