Yes, I'm a justhe.

The current governor was the Lt. Gov. who moved up when Tom Ridge resigned to become the head of Homeland Security. Don't know why he decided not to run, other than perhaps the fact that he had never intended to ever be governor, and just by fate ended up in that position.

I didn't know anything about the governor except that he succeeded Ridge so I've done a wee bit of research, in case any one else is interested ......

Birth Date: January 31, 1953
Family: married; three children
Spouse: Kathy
Party: Republican ... (as I suspected)
Elected: October 2001
Term Expires: January 2003

He has a Master's Degree in Administration .... after college, he entered the business world and advanced to executive positions at Merrill Lynch, McGraw Hill, and his own management consulting firm. He was first elected to public office in 1979 as Middletown Township Supervisor, and in 1987 he was elected Bucks County Commissioner. He was elected lieutenant governor in November 1994 and reelected in November 1998. He was sworn in as Pennsylvania's 44th governor on October 5, 2001, following Governor Tom Ridge's appointment by President George W. Bush to head the nation's Office of Homeland Security.

Thanks, justhe. The gov. seems good. Too bad he didn't run.

If we should meet on other threads, justshe and justhe can talk about justhem. (It looked funny with 2 "t"s)
