Watch and pray. The rescuers are optimistic that they will reach the cavity where the miners are located by midnight, perhaps as soon as 10pm et.
They just reported that several PA miners were caught in a similar situation thirty years ago AND WERE RESCUED ALIVE AFTER A WEEK IN THE HOLE.

Fox blew this one. They decided to go with their stock market show at 10:00 EST. Geraldo got the news of the miners being alive while eating dinner.

There are three little kittens on my back porch, and I'm going to see if they will chase a laser pointer or not. Call it scientific research ;) What beautiful fun!

You're right Bush should... Not to make it political but he only lost PA by a few votes in 2000...

Rick Leventhal just stated the package of food, etc just went down the hole...

While interviewing the governor Geraldo called him "dude".

I don't know if they were watching Fox, or are here. The first time I heard of FR was on CNN during the 2000 election.
Dang near flooded my garden waiting to see how the guys in the mine were. lol
After I found out went out and moved the hose.

I bump! you I kind of like the new Geraldo. I think he has changed and has been born again. He is including Rick. If this would have been any other reporter he would have axed him and stole the show.

...I'd probably fall deep asleep in emotional exhaustion. i'm sure a lot of that will happen.
again P, big kudos for all your work on this one !

I don't have cable anymore, but I can't imagine Fox being serious in using GR for anything but fluff pieces. Why didn't they can him after he lied in Afganistan? Fox News is supposed to be for the adults.

I agree! Jeff Flock's (CNN) reporting has been wonderfully refreshing and heartfelt.
Monday morning I'll be back watching FOX News. Tonight, I'm with CNN.

They'll have a ball (substitute)! They go wild over that little red dot, chase it everywhere. You can be a real couch potato with that thing. Not like with a dog where you have to reach down to pick up the yucky wet ball from the floor where the dog dropped it!! LOL

I agree so very much. GW should be there when the men are brought out, or directly afterwards. He may be a distraction while they're concentrating on bringing them out.
To: Fracas
Geraldo can't just report an event. He has to embellish. He has to say things like: "given all the terrible news that we've had recently, the stock market crashing, the Casey Williamson kidnapping, little Johnnie stubbing his toe, who would have thought that we could find in the depths of our being some faint spark of hope that these men might actually survive? Who would have thought that we might be blessed with good news?"
That is not reporting. That is yuck!

Actually it was the CNN reporter on the scene. He was doing his report, saw out of the corner of his eye Geraldo kiss that rescue spokeswomen, and then made mention of it. Now the CNN reporter was obviously treading water to fill airtime between video clips and interviews, but you could tell that he was a little taken aback, the not-so-subtle implication being that he thought Geraldo was acting like an unprofessional buffoon.
Now clearly to his credit Geraldo has done some things right tonight, but too many times he has acted smarmy, unprofessionally, and just come across as a dishonest phony ham. Much to the contrast of Sweiker, Levanthal, and MSNBC's Robert Hagar.
