Watch and pray. The rescuers are optimistic that they will reach the cavity where the miners are located by midnight, perhaps as soon as 10pm et.
They just reported that several PA miners were caught in a similar situation thirty years ago AND WERE RESCUED ALIVE AFTER A WEEK IN THE HOLE.

Looks like the media isn't in a hurry now to report this, seeing as it sounds like good news.

"The Gov said it will be 2 hours before we know if the miners are alive."At the risk of raining on everyone's parade, I have to tell you that yesterday I heard via some news source that these miners were in water that was assumed to be 50 degrees Fahrenheit. I'm praying that this report was bullshit, because the probability of a human surviving for this long in water that cold is nil. Hypothermia would have killed them yesterday.
That said, the news source (which I can't now recall) never specified how much water the miners were immersed in. Hopefully, it wasn't much, but if it was much I urge everyone to prepare for the worst. I say this because I live near Lake Superior, the deadliest lake in the world. People who wind up as lake fatalities here most often succumb to hypothermia before they drown, and the ambient high lake temperature usually peaks at arounf 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

WTAE-4 TV, Pittsburgh reconfirming an emphatic reaction--hugging and hopping--among those at the rescue site who have access to the communications from the cavity.
Dear God I hope it's true.

MSNBC camera must be some distance away in a building -- nothing like cheers picked up on the open mike.

I guess CNN feels they can wait 20 minutes before giving out any good news. More important for that panel of bastards to trash Bush. Priorities, ya know.
