FRiends of the USO Canteen FReeper Style and Snow Bunny

.
.
If you know a Veteran, someone in your family, friend of the family, neighbor, who served their country, take a brief moment of your day to thank them. Thank them for the sacrifice they made for the better good of their country.
We at Free Republic, and the USO Canteen FReeper Style, are thankful for every service member in our military, who has served our great nation.
So, to the men and women who answered the call, in both times of war and peace, thank you.
.
Message from Snow Bunny to all those who visit the Canteen.
This is how I think of the USO Canteen Freeper Style. It is like a cottage down a road, a place where a weary veteran can spend the night.
Since it opened, it is magical how so many Freepers who post here, feel it too. It has been so dear how the Freepers kept making it a cottage - a home-type of place that had a huge living room for them to visit in and a dance floor, a library, etc.
Many Veterans have written to me, saying that the Canteen is like home to them for the first time since they served.
This is your Canteen - a respite from our busy and sometimes troubling world. Make yourself at home.

Arizona
Arizona from the splendor of the Grand Canyon to the multitude of wildflowers.
Our trip takes us to the Grand Canyon.......Anyone care to take an added trip down into this marvelous place?
Our next adventure happens when we get to......The Havasupai Indian Reservation is located in Havasu Canyon deep in the heart of Grand Canyon. Havasu Canyon is one of the over 600 side canyons together forming the 280-mile long Grand Canyon.
Home to towering waterfalls, beautiful cascades, and tropical blue-green pools this lush oasis is considered the "gem" of the Grand Canyon.
Beautiful Arizona landmark, Camelback Mountain
In a place called Sedona, there is something very mystical about this spot in Northeastern Arizona.
Sedona is unique in several respects. First is that it is relatively lush and seems rather out of place in a state better known for it's desert-like landscape. Secondly, Sedona has beautiful rich red rock formations that jet out of the sandy canyon floor, they look something like enormous sculptures against the azure sky.
Traveling over to Tucson where there are many things to see: ...Sabino Canyon, De Grazia Art Gallery, Seguaro National Monuments. But one of the stops we will take , is the Mission San Xavier.
Mission San Xavier del Blac

LMAO, Misty. This catching up is not fun. I haven't made it to post 500 yet.
Now that Officer Tonkin has gone to bed, maybe I can speed to catch up without getting caught.

Wow, I did not realize that the aggressiveness was more of a female trait in chows. Next time I will get another male, although Tyler was always taking off and going straight to the dog catcher! LOL. I had to pay a number of times for violating the leash law because the dog would run out the door. I would tell him to stop and he would turn, smile at me, and run up the street to where the dog catcher lived! :) Keisha did that a few times but now she minds really well. :)

Doing good R.A.
Question:
Do you keep up with NEO'S and periodic comet profiles?
Was reading some articles recently from Victor Clube and Charles Napier concerning Comet Encke.
The Taurid meteor stream may be archived way back in earth history.
There are some allignment features at Stonehenge that mark the entrance or first crossing of the taurid meteor stream..and its exit.
The entrance being identified by celestial cartography.
It seems ancient folklore hints that the earth got absolutely throtled by impactors..some brought down entire civilizations and sent mankind into mass migration.
From the Nordic tales of Fenris Wolf, the Greek Pantheon waging war in the skies[The Iliade of Homer], the Egyptian Papyrus Ipuwer, records of Chinas Emperor Yahoo[Vouched by confuscious]to the star charts of the Maya..and the terror of Quetzelcoatl returning every 50 years.
Mankind was really scared ..and remembered.
Several other sites exist in the world which mark the taurid meteor stream.
Recently..and even on the part of a few from JPL and Nasa comes comment that the Impactors that throttled Mars..might well indeed have been large fragments of Super Comet Encke which was torn apart by Jupiter..throttling and shot gunning the moons of Jupiter,Saturn,...The planet Mars...Venus.and us.
Some comment that this event may have occured in near recent time...the impactors blowing off Mar's oceans and atmosphere.
A few comets off long duration have appeared of late..some have never been recorded before by man.
It sure is an interesting science..and worthy of our attention...ie funding.
