05/30/02	Thursday	~ Ricci returns to pick up his Jeep at the auto repair shop before the shop has a chance to fully fix it He tells the repairman that it needed for an emergency.
06/04/02	Tuesday	~ Ricci is at work from about 9am to 5:30pm ~ Ricci claims he spends the evening with friends
06/05/02	Wednesday	~ 1:05am - 2 cars are spotted on the SLC Shriner's Hospital Parking Lot by a hospital security guard, two blocks from the Smart residence ~ 1:30am (approx) - Elizabeth is kidnapped from her home ~ 1:30am - Ricci claims to be in bed asleep with his with wife. ~ Ricci is scheduled to be off work all day today. ~ 7:21am - Rachel/Amber alert is issued and national media is involved. ~ 8:30am - Ricci and his neighbor talk about the kidnapping of Elizabeth, Ricci seems to know too much information about it. ~ Sometime during this day Ricci is visited by police in regards to Elizabeth's kidnapping as reported by Angela Ricci (Richard A. Ricci's Wife which is an ex-convict herself) ~ Ricci is seen by his neighbor digging a hole by his (Ricci's) trailer early in the morning. (heard the neighbor say this on TV)
06/06/02	Thursday	~ Ricci is scheduled to work from 9am to 5:30pm today, but instead works from 10:30am to 7:00pm ~ Police talk to Ricci this day about the Elizabeth Smart kidnapping. (The media is reporting this, so it could be wrong)
06/08/02	Saturday	~ Ricci returns the Jeep to the repair shop to get it fixed. The Jeep is muddy and the repair shop owner sees Ricci remove seat covers from the back of the jeep and place them into a plastic garbage bag that already contains other stuff in it. Also the repair shop owner said a muddy post hole digger was in the back of the Jeep, Ricci removes this also. Ricci has a man waiting across the street to give him a ride. Ricci takes the plastic bag and contents along with the post hole digger with him. Also there is 500 to 1000 extra miles on the Jeep since Ricci picked it up on May 30th, 2002.
06/14/02	Friday	~ Ricci is taken into custody for a parole violation, this being the 2001 robbery of the Smart Home in which he admitted to.

Last I saw of Tom Smart was on a cable TV interview about two weeks ago and that was the first time I'd seen him since very early in the case. Can't remember what he said, nothing earth shattering.

I was agreeing with what you posted, and just marvelling at WHY would MR. Smart have him back in the home, when at the time he didn't know if Recci was one who was in on, or did the theft.(clarification/burglary)

But not for the purpose of putting down Mr. Smart, as we all do things that in hindsight we wish we hadn't.

My question was...did MR. Smart report the theft to the police at the time?..and...I don't remember about Sept. 2001. sorry. I am going to think on it and try to find out tho.

Now the question is raised here IF HE DID IN FACT GO BACK TO WORK IN THE HOUSE.I think what you posted said he did. Sorry, I am in a hurry here..um..I always had that impression, but I do want to check on it. You think he worked there after the theft, don't you?

. as I recall...please feel free to correct me...but Ed himself said in a press conference that he was late getting the title to Richard, and that Richard called on him in Sept and asked for it and Ed said, sure, come and get it.....don't remember if there was anymore work involved,..Ed simply had to get the title to.Richard..

Look at this, Jolly, NE picked up on my John Remington suspicions. NE must have someone following this thread. When I get groceries I'll browse NE to see if they printed a picture of Remington. If they have a pic I'll bet he's wearing a white baseball cap. Ha. I had heard the same thing back in June on Ricci & his wife's polygraphs, that she passed and his was inconclusive and he took a 2nd one but never heard the results on the 2nd one.

Ricci, Young, and Remington all worked together as handymen in the Smart family's upscale neighborhood.

That's interesting. I knew that they all were members of the "theme park", but didn't realize they had all worked there. Maybe Ricci wasn't needed to map out the layout of the house.

At the time that Dinse reported the new theft and burglary charges against Ricci, he first said Smart hadn't reported the theft, then backtracked after someone on his staff corrected him.

Besides, Jolly, you just said you think they didn't publish a sketch to protect MK. Which way is it?

My theory all along has been that they haven't released a sketch because MK didn't get a good enough look - because of darkness, mask, angle, whatever.

After the Boylan interview, I took her carefully worded comments to mean that MK did see enough. BUT, we still don't have a sketch, so there must still be a reason.

I certainly think they're trying to conceal it from the public. Is NE spokesman for the SLCPD and FBI? And still haven't see a photo of Remington released by SLCPD/FBI to the media or any statement to contradict Remington's attorney's assertion that Remington has been in jail awaiting trial since November 2001.

Sure, if Ricci told Ed he had taken a polygraph obviously the theft had been reported to the police.

I was ready to post that I was dense...lol...but then I thought, " Could it have been that that the police HAD NO REPORT, and when they brought him in on the parole violation, they asked him if he commited the theft on the home a year ago".

Wonder about it now. I never remember hearing a clarification on this. But maybe Jolly will know.

Remington had a handyman business and got a contract for a house in the Smart neighborhood back at the time of the bank robbery and hired Ricci and Young to work for him on the house. Obviously he hired him for more than home repairs though. Does that NE article say Remington drives a Honda?

Maybe initially to protect MK but once they figured out who the kidnapper was they were able to take him into custody right away on unrelated charges and are waiting for Elizabeth or her body to appear to press charges.

I am a little behind on the posts, so I am sure by the time your read this you will know that they found her little nighty, and then her.

They positively identified her (parents) and are doing a dental check also.

She was at her Dads. He had a room mate, and the room mate had a friend sleep over...Johnny something...

The Dad was getting her breakfast, went to the bathroom, and had told her he would get her cereal when he was out of the rest room. When he came back...little Casy and the room mates friend were gone. He called her Mother..she wasn't there..then 911...they got on it right away.

Result you know by now.

OK... there are 2 posts above that say he was working in the home in September of 2001. Ed Smart never had to say he rehired Ricci after the theft as it was told and known that Ricci was working in the house months later after the theft occurred.
