I'd say that this statement is very misleading. The last four U.S. presidents were largely elected by people who didn't have a clue about where they stood on an issue like free trade.

Free trade was one of those essentials that the "Two-Party Cartel" candidates must subscribe to. As far as what the (90%) sheeple know about a candidate is from the fraudulant news media. But be assured that the candidate will be liberal, will follow mostly the Communist Manifesto, not necesary by leading but by following & will be compromised. Reagan was a loose cannon for these elites. They didn't own him. That is why he is so vilified. Same goes for Buchanan or Nader or Harry, the libertiaran guy.
