Dixie Chicks. The title of the song is "Goodbye Earl" but is more well known as "Earl Had to Die" Just a little County music humor.

(I always thought that Maryanne or Wanda should have just bought a shotgun and used it.)

I wish you were right but with 40% of America being hard core leftists I think the "in crowd" of liberals will buy it as an "in your face" gesture.

Be interesting to see: I'll bet Earle gets places in national media that Charlie Daniels and Toby Keith were excluded from because of their ANTI-moham songs.

PS---I doubt Earle is on heroin any more; he wouldn't still be around if he were. HOWEVER, I bet the ranch that he's still a pot-head. I don't think these doping, aging rockers every abandon that (So much for the success of drug treatment, huh.)

I'm not a really big country music fan but I just read the lyrics to 'Goodbye Earl' and all I can say is...

The Lindh ballad is on Earle's forthcoming album "Jerusalem," which contains other songs that touch on political and social issues, including the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Aiwa personal CD player - $99. Steve Earle's album, Jerusalem - $19. Smashing album to bits - priceless.

Earle is currently in Europe and could not be reached for comment. But he told an audience at the Mariposa Folk Festival in Ontario, Canada, this month: "This song just may get me f---ing deported."

Hopefully this drug addict traitor is right.

When The People Find Out
(Steve Earle)

It's late at night
You're all alone
Pale moonlight
Cold as stone
Heart beats fast
Time moves slow
Strangers glance
Does he know
Where you gonna run to
Where you gonna hide
When the people find out
That you lied

They took you in, made you well
They told you things, they never tell
To pay the debt, you made em fools
That's what you get, they trusted you
When they run to the temple and find
That the treasure's gone
Do you think it's gonna be a cross
They're gonna nail you on

From "The Hard Way"

Boy I loved that album, BUMMER!

Don't knock America's greatest form of popular music! Most of the people who listen to it are patriotic people unlike this loser. Earle's politics are far similar to hip-hop and punk than country.
