Don't tell the New York Times, but....

Don’t tell the New York times, but…..

We don’t need the help of the Arab Nations to take care of Iraq. We only asked them to be polite.

Second; Saddam Hussein is not worth one drop of American Service Man’s blood, so forget about the ground war with 200,000 of our best, exposed to that crazy.

Here is the plan!

Make up several thousand leaflets showing a 30 mile square area near enough to Baghdad for them to hear the boom. Put an X in the center. State that this area is going to be destroyed next Monday morning. If you are here, get out.

You will have one week to go out and see if you want this to happen to Baghdad. You have two choices. (1) March your Army to the river, displaying the white flags that were dropped with the leaflets. (2) Get several miles out of Baghdad.

That’s It, if this plan is leaked, I hope it is leaked to Mr.Wolfowitz.

P.S: You can sell your stock in the Company that makes body bags, they will go under.

Oh, we're going to REALLY nuke Baghdad.

Yup. Saddam will still be down in his bunker (completely unhurt, BTW), we'll have incinerated the only folks likely to string him up, and Iran will use the opportunity to grab the northern end of the Gulf preparatory to an invasion of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Not to mention the last point...Bush would probably get impeach for being a complete dunderhead.

I assume you have asked Congress for a formal Declaration of War before you do any of this...

I was kidding (a little). And feeling a little beligerent since hearing about the big suicide bombing in Tel Aviv today. Saddam's hands are in that wetwork, and I really think he and his command structure should get their "reward" as soon as possible.

Ignoring your premise for the moment - I'll just say that this entire discussion of any US plans to "take out Sad Dam" in the media has reached almost comic proportions. The funniest thing is that the media REALLY TRULY thinks that they are going to be told everything about the plan, dates, times, precise strategy and tactics, exact count of planes, missiles and munitions to be deployed, flight paths of all Predators, and that somehow all this secret information can be safely published and put on the air with not one person in the Arab world having a clue.

They really ARE full of themselves, aren't they.

You mean the clymers at the New York Times won't be the first to know when Bush and Rummy sign off on an Iraq plan? I'm shocked, just shocked.

LOL! That is the best comment I have read in some time.

Please add to it that the media also thinks that the administration is clueless about the leaks, that they cannot control anything, and they are only waiting from word from the media experts on how to win this war.

Of course, the media had NO CLUE about what President Bush was going to say about Arafat, no clue that he and Putin would move forward with such efficiency, no clue that we would be able to win in Afghanistan without ground troops in massive numbers, etc.

Personally, I look forward to the operation because I know it will not be what the media has expected, and I am anticipating their chagrined and befuddled faces on screen.

Prior to Tibbets flying the Enola Gay over Hiroshima, there was a considerable amount of talk about dropping leaflets on Tokyo inviting all Japanese to watch a small island just off their coast at a specific time, so that they could see the power of our new weapon.

That being said, a demonstration would have a certain amount of value to it.

But as for me, I say save the money and time regarding leaflets and a demonstration bombing and just drop the real thing.

It's way past time for the U.S. to still be listening to all of these wanna-be military powers tell us what we can and can't do.

Those who mess with us should get the horns (hence my logo)...

I was one waiting just outside Japan, dodging Kamicausi sp. Think how the nuke improved Japan. Only thing, only a few of us have lived long enough to make the comparison!

Very true. I am not quite old enough to know, having been born in 1948. However, my father's best friend was in the Pacific, ready to go. My father's friend was eternally grateful to Harry Truman for giving that order.

Well, this is (apparently) the nation that evidently fielded an E3-A aircraft off the shores of a hostile power without a "panic" button, one that flew without a fighter escort, and/or whose mission commander either forgot or did not have the ability to completely destroy all sensitive equipment and data before the aircraft was forced down on enemy territory...
