The Federal Bureau of Prisons will be able to protect John Walker Lindh from any inmates seeking to avenge his service with Taliban forces in Afghanistan, a bureau spokeswoman said Tuesday. For a while maybe Jeffery Dahlmer thought he wasnt paid attention too either.

Assign him to "Shank Alley" in any prison and save the taxpayers some money.

...bureau personnel would decide what steps were needed to protect the 21-year-old Californian from inmates. Why bother? Go ahead and let his fellow inmates do what they will with him.

Wasn't that human feces, the cannibal-freak, Dahmer under "special protection", too? Justice may yet catch up to Taliban-Johnny yet. At the very least I hope his dance-card is filled every night, ought to be quite a thrilling prospect for his pervert father.
To: Yakboy
I recall the day Dahmer was beat to death quite well.
Clintoon had called a special session of the Senate for a vote on the Uruguay round of the GATT treaty.
Just a few weeks after the 1994 Republician "revolution," to shove GATT in before the newly elected congress could be seated.
Dahmer upstaged it.
To: chiefqc
I doubt if he knows...yet.
Yakboy said it well in his post # 7.

I'm outraged at the deal and special considerations offered to Lindh. Already this traitor's family is saying he is another Nelson Mandela.

Lindh to be protected from other inmatesThey're gonna give him a box of Trojans?

1. I share your outrage at the special considerations afforded that little weasel. Why he isn't sweating it out at Gitmo with the rest of his ilk is beyond me.
2. Nelson Mandela was a terrorist. Look what he and HIS ilk did to South Africa.

I'm not all that outraged by the deal; Jihad Johnny was an idiot to have taken up with people who have for years sworn that they were the blood enemies of his own country, but there's no real proof that he did that expecting to wind up in a shooting war with Americans. That 20 year sentence really means 20 years, no parole; it's roughly equal to his entire lifetime leading up to what has turned out to be the most pivotal event in his life.
Best of all, it saved us from a public spectacle on Court TV, something we can all be thankful for. And we don't have to go through a lengthy trial, we already have him judged guilty. Done deal, probably spared the country a load of grief.
Not to mention, he is now obligated to sing like a canary, which is more valuable to us right now than putting his boiled and tarred head on a pike, no matter how much many of us would like that. (Hey, don't knock it, it's part of my Anglo-Saxon heritage!)
And as others have pointed out, the only possible early release coming to this misguided fool may be in the form of "jailhouse justice".

The scary thing is, Lindh will probably have a lot of supporters in prison. The Boyz in da hood will love him!

I guess this is a roundabout way of saying that other prisoners aren't protected.

apparently you weren't listening to the news closely enough.. his own lawyer said he'd be out in less than 17 years for "good behaviour". He's no idiot, he's evil, and should be treated accordingly. He needs to be made an example of to any stupid young person who thinks what he did was cool.
