Bush, Russia and Nuclear War "Parent or Guardian" Must Sign This Treaty
sierratimes.com ^ | 07. 6. 02 | Anthony C. LoBaido

There is a term in the Russian language: "Krasnaya Zhariya." It means "Red Dawn." I learned this term from an ex-Russian KGB agent while living abroad in Cyprus. I don't speak Russian very well, and I earned only a "D" in a course called "Geography of the Soviet Union" while a student at Arizona State. But I do know that something is very wrong with America's approach to Russia in 2002 AD.

Back in 1984, Americans watched a movie by the title of "Red Dawn" and it chilled us to the bone. It starred Patrick Swayze, Charlie Sheen and Lea Thompson. Who can forget Lea (these days the TV star of "Caroline in the City") shooting down Russian Special Forces with her AK-47 in front of McDonalds. That was chilling. I can assure you that even today, the mere thought of "Caroline in the City" is enough to give any Russian Special Forces soldier nightmares.

Ah, the 1980's! Remember the Cold War? Remember when every tiny detail of the SALT talks captured the interest of average Americans? Remember the May Day parade in Moscow when the Russians carted out their nuclear warheads down the avenue while America unveiled giant balloons depicting Under Dog and Snoopy during our holidays? Remember when we were afraid we would see Russian troops racing across Europe eating up all of the croissants? Remember our dance of joy when America's college kids beat the world's elite - the Soviet Army hockey team -- at Lake Placid for the gold medal in the 1980 Winter Olympics? This was only one year after the same Soviet Army team annihilated America's and Canada's elite NHL All-Star team, which had cancelled the start of the NHL season and held a training camp before the slaughter. Thus there were no excuses available for the North American trading bloc. I mean Western Civilization. I mean Canada and America. I mean NAFTA. Okay it was, in politically correct retrospect, Canadian and American NHL All-Stars, skating like Mexicans, against the Soviet Army team. Glad we cleared that up.

Well in light of recent events vis-à-vis the Russians, the 1980's seem like the age of Charles Martel. President Bush Jr. just handed over 66 percent of our nuclear weapons to a KGB-trained agent in his recent treaty.

Where is the outcry?

Under former President Reagan, America had so many missiles that I could just die telling you how many. Like 50,000 or so. Now we have what, 1,700? 2,200? This newfangled treaty is vague, talking about dismantling many of the nuclear weapons and leaving them around to be re-mantled whenever one gets a hankerin' to do so. There is a three-month window for either side to pull out of the treaty. That's the warranty - 90 days, like for your VCR. "Russia is our friend," Bush tells us again and again. Does he actually believe this?

If Russia were indeed our friend, they wouldn't care if we had a missile shield. Do you care if your neighbor locks his car at night or installs a burglar alarm system? The Russians whine about our missile shield for only ONE reason. They are planning to attack us some day. Does Togo care about our missile shield? Does Djibouti care? I bet they are rioting in the streets of Sri Lanka over America's proposed missile shield.

Caveat Emptor. If you saw the Putin-Bush news conference on CNN and studied it in detail -- as LoBaido did -- you would have noted that both Russian leader Putin and Putin's translator spoke better English than Bush. So did Bush's translator. Okay, this is something that isn't hard to do, but it was kind of creepy anyway. In fact, I think they all spoke better English while actually speaking Russian. Bush's Russian was NOT very good. Oh, I forgot he was speaking English - but it sounded very Russian!

You would have also noticed that Bush is in love with the terms "Russia" and "market economy." As if! Bush is beholden to U.S. corporations and has globalist designs. (This is why he wears a sombrero when it comes to dealing with Mexico. You know Mexico, the country to the south where our Muslim "friends" store their cyanide for safekeeping).

Bush seems as though he is actually trying to convince himself that Russia is our friend. At the press conference he kept saying things like, "America has no interest in viewing Russia as an enemy." Well, duh! Russia can reduce our cities to rubble in like 20 minutes. They can turn all of America into the South Bronx. They also have heaps of biological and biochemical weapons. Worse of all Russia still has lots of hairy women with Olympic medals hanging from the mirrors in their bedrooms - where they (hopefully) sleep alone.

Caveat Emptor II: Imagine all of America's kids, dressed in their baggy gang clothes, with their tattoos and body and facial piercings and weird facial hair, walking around in our post-modern nuclear wasteland, vomiting up their teeth, sick from radiation poisoning? Who will be left to watch South Park or listen to Kurt Cobain CD's? Who will be left to salute the United Nations flag?

Since America's national survival has been severely compromised by Bush's recent nuclear treaty with the Russians, it is time to separate fact from fiction.

Russia is right now arming herself and signing treaties with Communist China against America. China has established beach heads in Panama, Sudan, South Africa, Burma, the Bahamas and set up space warfare infrastructure near Swakopmund, Namibia.

Russia is one of the worlds' major high-tech weapons exporters. A few years back, America had to pressure South Korea into buying U.S. weapons over Russian-made weapons. Why? Russian weapons come with advisors who speak foreign languages and lots of easy to read manuals with titles like, "how to blow up your friends" and "Armageddon for dummies."

It was just a few years ago that former Russian President Boris Yeltsin threatened nuclear attack against America vis-vis the Serbian crisis. Some friends huh? How about an orange afro? Want the paint sucked off your house? Rent the films "Spies Like Us," "The Day After" and "Miracle Mile" for details.

Boris Yeltsin also threatened nuclear attack against Norway after that nation launched an innocuous satellite for scientific purposes. We blame it all on Boris' vodka, but we are wrong. And what does this man have against blondes anyway? I'll bet Boris probably hates Jack in the Box tacos and The X Files as well.

Russia is bullying Denmark into not allowing a U.S. missile shield to be set up in Greenland -- a land which Denmark controls. Russia has recently moved tactical nuclear weapons within striking distance of Denmark via a remote province in Western Russia.

(Greenland is ice and Iceland is green, when the Viking raiders came to steal the women, they switched names. Maybe its time for Americans to start teaching their kids geography again instead of how to put a condom on a banana and salute the United Nations flag).

Russia is arming Iran and Iran is ready to kick the hell out of Israel. Iran arms Hezbollah in Lebanon, which likes to lob missiles at Israel. It's all very convenient.

Russia still covets a warm water port to the south. Read the book, "Last Dash to the South" by Vladimir Zhyrinovsky, the right wing nationalist and anti-globalist. Russia is arming the FARC rebels in Columbia who control an area of that country the size of Switzerland.

Russia's infiltration of the CIA, NSA and FBI is so great (achieved under the Clinton regime) that the Russians have now closed down their listening post in Cuba. They simply don't need it anymore. Think of it as a going out of business sale. Why buy the cow when the milk is free?

(But keep shopping at the mall, because Russia is our friend! Don't forget that we have men like Hanssen and Ames in the intelligence agencies to protect us. Plus Madeline Half-bright and Condi Rice, trained by the Marxists at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. Maybe they are grooming Chelsea Clinton out there as well?).

Russia supports the communists in power in South Africa, Congo/Zaire, Angola, Namibia, Zimbabwe and elsewhere. The strategic mineral treasure chest of Southern Africa, which fuels the Western military industrial complex, can now be shut off at any time. The Cape of Good Hope off the tip of South Africa is ripe for Russian and Chinese control, thanks to the Marxist ANC regime put in power in South Africa by the U.S. State Department, Bush Sr./Clinton gang, United Nations, China, Russia, radical Islam and European Union.

The former Warsaw Pact nations are now merging into NATO.

Russia is also merging into NATO. So they are merging into NATO and with Communist China. Hmm, that's a neat trick. But it's okay cause Russia is allowing America to build an oil pipeline through Afghanistan. That's a great trade off Mr. Bush!

Russia launders billions in drug money on the Pacific island of Nauru, which has a population of 11,000 and is a full United Nations member, while Taiwan is not allowed inside the U.N. Go figure. Russia also launders drug money in Cyprus and Macedonia. This money fuels the KGB/FSB and rouge Russian military activities, like training the Aum Shin Rikyo cult of Japan.

Russia arms North Korea and sells North Korea satellite photos of U.S. troop positions in South Korea, Japan and elsewhere.

Russians are tough. They chew nails and spit our carpet tacks. We watch professional wrestling and our idea of exercise is driving two exits on the freeway without take a bite out of our calzone.

Russians are far better educated than Americans. They can re-assemble nuclear missiles faster than the time it takes for your child to put his nose ring in, or microwave a Stouffer's French Bread Pizza. (Yummy!)

Russia has a society that is basically monolithically white and has few racial problems. As such, during a nuclear exchange, combined with their advanced civil defense, they will most likely survive as a nation. And this is a nation with 11 time zones.

Russians will follow any nationalist leader who gives them A. Lots of vodka and B. Five different kinds of sausages. But we in America still have better frozen pizza, spaghetti sauce in a can or jar, football, porno and crack! We also can boast of Madonna, Michael Jackson, MTV and Dennis Rodman).

Russians are angry at American arrogance during the 1990's after the Cold War "ended." Clinton and Co. pushed the Russians into the arms of the Chinese.

Russia actually fights radical Islam. They don't send visa renewal forms to terrorists or leave their borders unguarded.

Russia doesn't use women in forward combat positions. When the Russian army went into a certain Chechen village looking for a handful of terrorists, they killed over 20,000 civilians who got in the way. The terrorists escaped, but that did not deter the "poorly trained" Russian army. They are tough, vicious and brutal. These troops also actually enjoy eating bad food, wearing fake designer clothing and they rarely wear Old Spice deodorant.

Russia's intelligence services have not -- unlike America's, the UK's, Australia's and Canada's -- been ruined by political correctness.

Russians care about their families.

Siberia has tons of natural resources, including oil.

Not long ago, Russia's air force carried out a successful mock attack on America's Pacific Fleet. The Russian jets in fact, passed over our ships TWO times before our Navy he launched aircraft to attempt an intercept. The mad Russians probably could have sunk our ships with ease during this attack if they had wanted. But since they are our "friends" they didn't.

Russia's submarines have been mapping the continental shelf off of America's West Coast. It's a nice hiding place to park a sub loaded with nuclear missiles. Apparently the continental shelf is a cool hang out for our new Russian "friends."

Let's face facts. Most of the Russian people are very nice. But some of their leaders are very angry, anti-American, pro-Chinese and are preparing for war against us.

For now, we have no choice but to let President Bush Jr. go on with his notion that Russia is "America's friend." However, let's just hope that this missile treaty with the Russians isn't valid until Vice President Dick Chaney signs on the line that reads, ""Parent or Guardian signature required."

This is indeed chilling. I have read some messages by russian and chinese cheerleaders. They say trust russia and don't worry about russia, they will sell us oil and this is the most important relationship, they are our friends and they will help us, yadda, yadda and so on. I don't trust the former Soviet Union and i most certainly don't trust the Communist People's Republic of China.

I have just finished reading through the article and all i have to say is that although certain parts contain certain degrees of hyperbole the basic premise is true. Russia is still in essence a global super-power (even though conventional wisdom states the US is the only remaining super -power). After all Russia still possesses enough nuclear weapons to destroy life as we know it several times over, and then after that use its bio-chemical tech (which was suppossed to have been canned but due to recent reports has been proven to be still present) to finishe the job (actually i saw a PBS report that stated the pathogenic agents developed by Russia/USSR were enough to destroy the world 7-8 times over. Some of the more exotic batches tried to splice viruses with the potency of Ebola and Marburg with the ease of spread of Influenza).

Thus Russia is still a force to be respected.

However i still say it would not be in Russias best interest to attack the US. First of all it would not win (neither would we for that matter). The reason is that although both we and the Russians have destroyed a significant portion of our nuke forces we still have the ability to destroy each other under MAD! And personally i think the reason we have been destroying our nuke forces is to get rid of the obsolete missiles and just remain with the newest minutemen and Tridents. Same thing applies to Russia ....when the destroy their MIRV SS-18s and started putting in the single warhead Topol-Ms people started applauding ....but even if the Topol-M is a sinlge warhead missile it possessed such advanced tech that it is reputed to be immune to US anti-ballistic missile defenses (it can do moves such as the so-called side maneuver [bokovoy manevr] - the ability to dodge anti-missile defenses. Topol-M will disorient enemy anti-missile defenses. It will maneuver to create a false trail. It is also described as an evasive capability with a "lateral anti-missile maneuver.). And by the way the topol-M can be easily refitted with MIRV (although the warheads would obviously be smaller).

Thus the cutting down of arms is nothing to be cheerful about , at least not to the point of boundless exuberance.

However i still assert that Russia has no reason to get itself into a fight that would have no winner. If we were talking about some Jehadi Islamic nation that advocates mass suicide that would make sense ...but the Russians care about their kids and will not risk their destruction just to get the US. Aftera ll in a nuke fight between the US and Russia both nations would be seriously 'altered'....someone say green-glows for the next 50 K years.

Thus the Russians are to be respected, but luckily (unlike the Islamists) they care about life and would not do something stupid.

And chances are in the future the only country that will be closer to the US than Russia will be Great Britain. I see an era where the three (the US, GB, and Russia) bunch together for mutual gains.

Thus the whol 'Red Dawn' concept needs to be removed from Russia and stuck where it is most applicable .....towards China!

The UK, sometime during the 1930s. Radical left wingers dominate the political debate. Homosexuals and nihilist intellectuals degrade the culture, attack parental authority and convince the young that the only thing that matters is to feel good now. All sense of duty is out the window. Meanwhile, the few who call themselves "Conservatives" are mostly deluded into believing the fiction that commerce will always trump war - if only we trade with a nation, they shall never become our enemy. As if the entire world were inhabited by commercial real estate developers and there would never emerge any more harsh, beligerant, expansionist leaders in any quarter. Now, fast forward to America, 2002 A.D. Something to ponder...

I keep trying to make similar points. But the .... shallow thinkers here seem to want to avoid them.

Granted, I'm not a military analyst.
But some things are obvious.

Russia has a severe problem with Muslim terrorists.
They share a LAND border with these nutcases..... enough said.

China - this one could take a while.
China is surrounded to the South and the West by mountains. China is blocked on the east by water.

The only clear path for armor is to the north. If China wants to add land or resources, they're not going to be able to cross into India. Armor will be extremely vulnerable in the VERY HIGH mountains.
Like us, Russia has a severe immigration problem. But theirs is worse. A longer border. And MORE immigrants, with even LESS security.

There are millions of Chinese immigrants in eastern Russia (Siberia).

It would be suicidal for Russia to attack us. We have common enemies. We have much more in common intellectually and culturally.

And we are not a clear and present danger.
We're wondering WHERE China can hit us with nukes. China can hit ALL of Russia right now.

Yep, no matter what people say about Russia one fact remains ...they are prone to become one of the United States major allies (both in fiscal and military terms). As the European Union declines in significance the major countries allied with the US will be Great Britain and Russia!

Thus i think all this 'Red Dawn' hyperbole should be applied to China (and to a lesser extent a future Pakistan that is led by a crazy zealot)!

If Russia wanted to get into a fight with the US it would have done so decades ago when it was the hegemony USSR! Currently Russia is still extremely powerful militarily, but it is led by people who have brains in their heads (unlike Pakistan which is always under the sword of damocles in that Musharaff could be kicked out and some Islamist zealot take power ....or China which is as we speak taking steps to develop assymetrical warfare assets to be deployed against the US shoudl we try to defend Taiwan from it).

People need to get off their cold war mentality and see Russia for what it is ....a budding ally and a strong one at that) in a world where the US needs all the allies it can get.

Can't disagree.

Also of note. Russia has MORE natural resources than we do.
Imagine a Russia led by Capitalists. Oh. Did I mention they have lower taxes (and flat tax) than we do?

The idea that Russia is going to surprise nuke us makes no sense.
In fact, it would be a bit insane. The world market would collapse, and Russia would have to immediately move to destroy China also, lest they lose by attrition. The only winning scenario would be to attack every nuclear power at once. And I don't think their hardware is up to the task.

Although I have to admit apprehension at the fortress City under the Urals.

I'll counter balance that with something that might get this post pulled, or me anally inspected.(Even though I have no direct or special knowledge) The US has or is alledged to have nuclear powered drilling equipment, and have used black ops projects to create large underground safe areas connected by 'roadways'. (and I hope they do) , the equipment was even showcased in a Popular Mechanics? story decades ago. For all I know, we have several underground cities.....
But that doesn't really help much, (excepting asteroid impact) - because our current and reasonably near future threats are assymetric. Actually, Russia and the US probably have a lot to learn from each other.
If I had to choose, I'd pick Russia, Japan and Britain... and colonize space, while controlling the world flare ups.

We have a whole universe to settle. And all the rewards that go with it... This idea that nationalism will cause us to kill each other is infantile.

If I could stand before Bush and Putin at a joint press conference this is exactly what I'd address.

And it certainly doesn't hurt that Russia is led by someone of significant intelligence.

I'd like to see Russia be another capitalist nation on the other side of the globe.
But hey... that's just armchair analysis, without the benefit of what the big boys know....

(And if you want to offer me a job, well.... )

Gee, now take what you just wrote and reverse Russia and America...and that sounds a lot like what America says to the whole world. There's a nice little word in English: Hypocracy...lets see if we can all say it togather....HY-POC-RA-CY....very good children, I knew you could do it.
