RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA -- A crescent moon is rising over the Arabian desert as we finish a dinner of mezze and grilled lamb, then retire to a courtyard laid with Persian carpets. Our Saudi host asks the visiting journalists to introduce themselves and, discovering that several hail from the Midwest, begins a spirited discussion of the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Twins' stadium woes and the career prospects of Jesse Ventura.

It is no wonder, then, that Saudis react with hurt and surprise at the way Arabs have been treated in the United States since Sept. 11. 15 of 19.
15 of 19.

"However, I do not think we will be vacationing in the States this year," he adds. "We Saudis do not feel welcome in your country just now." GOOD! YOU CAN STAY IN YOUR COUNTRY! These journalists are suckers. The Saudi's are trying to wine and Dine the journalists to get in their good graces like they created the advertisements that they tried to shove on the American public.

Oh I don't know I've heard that there are deals to be had in Israel.

Their religious schools teach hatred of Christianity and all other religions. They finance and build Mosques in our country. They finance terrorism!
To hell with them!

"However, I do not think we will be vacationing in the States this year," he adds. "We Saudis do not feel welcome in your country just now." He's right.
However, once Saddam has gone to meet his virgins and young boys, the House of Saud will need to walk very lightly. Most of us would love to see a few young Americans visiting Saudi Arabia next. And we won't care if they are welcome or not.

The Saudis have decided to drop a few million on PR firms to try to drum up some good press. This BS article sounds like just what they paid for.

You sow to the wind, you reap the whirlwind. No doubt. These Saudi friends sound like members of the corrupt 'royal' family we have supported against the wishes of the increasingly radicalized population.

yup....
the entire culture is corrupt..they have NO honor as westerners use or understand the term.....they lie and cheat as a matter of normal existence... it is in their literature, history and #!###ng book....they are NOT part of a western frame of mind....this must be realized....
volume one of gibbons rise & fall of the roman empire details how this culture behaved then, and now...and how they were dealt with...when it succeded and when it did not...
same as it ever was .....same as it ever was.

Allow me to join you in a Eurocentric, pro-western, Christian politically incorrect thought for a moment.
On the Western Side of the planet we had Greece, Rome, Christ, The Renaissance, Martin Luther and the Reformation, The Counter Reformation, The Enlightenment, Democracy, Capitalism, The Industrial Revolution, and Mozart. Thanks to the Scientific Method, Western Culture is the only thought process I know of that can openly accept concepts from other cultures. Muslims, the Chinese, and even Indians, cannot accept our culture and the freedom that comes with it. They want the goods, They want the money. And if they could figure how to get it with out us, we would be gone.
On the other side of the planet, they want TV's, flush toilets, and Cars, but will never have any idea of how we developed these gadgets, or why. These are the Saudis. They would be lost without our "stuff." They put up with us because we can make it for them and maintain it.
Yet when their Muezzins call them to prayer five times a day, they often do so with the most blood-curdling calls to kill us pig-eating infidels and wipe our culture from the earth.
I always guessed that meant after we sold them new stuff and got their old stuff ... everything from plumbing to oil wells and telephones... working after they fouled it up.
There is no place in the Western World for Muslims ... unless they are able to convert it to Islam and THEIR ways. Our ancestors were not stupid. We live in Christendom. They live in Islam. The difference used to be both geographical and mental. Perhaps we should consider re-uniting the Muslim's mental isolation with the physical isolation that kept them (largely) off our backs for centuries.

Maybe they will get the picture only once the H-bomb hits the Haj.

Oddly enough. I think I WILL be "vacationing" in the Middle East in the near future. Me personally, I am hoping for a little more pay back for 9-11 soon. Afghanistan has just been a warm up period for the troops to work the cob webs out. The real fireworks are coming.

"Saudis see themselves as good friends to U.S."
I don't think they're that stupid. But they think we are, and they may not be wrong.
