authorities said they still had not figured out why

They are either holding the American public in contempt as clueless fools, or they are clueless fools themselves. In either case this is frightening

".....I B broke, need free money, gimme loan, or elst I gonna.... "

Sure thing .

With that clueless type of thinking, we should be having looneyticks shooting all over the country, but we don't do we, Mr. Attorney?

But U.S. officials have resisted labeling the shooting a terrorist act, pointing to unresolved questions about Hadayet's life and acquaintances... Among the myriad theories being explored is whether Hadayet simply committed a spectacular murder-suicide, motivated by despondency over some facet of his life.

Oh brother.

Palestinian suicide bombers then, according to this, are merely committing spectacular murder-suicides. Uh huh. They're motivated by "despondency" and not by the concept of martyrdom after all, aren't they? Isn't that what their apologists have been telling us for over a year?

If your last act is a terrorist act, as this was, then you're a terrorist, as Hadayet is. His life and aquaintances don't enter into it any more than when a Palestinian does the same deed with plastic explosives. It doesn't matter what they were, it matters what they *did*.

Hmm...He was upset a year or two ago about $1800 ? Paid late or reduced to $50 max by Federal Law.? Man, I'm cash short about $45,000. Can I blow up the Great Pyramid? I wonder where our Feds brains are. Their brains obviously don't reside anywhere near their mouths, or even in the same state.

He had enough money to send his wife and two children to Egypt. Last I checked, airfares to Egypt aren't cheap.

Has the "look & feel" of a terrorist to me:

California: Israel calls it 'an act of terrorism' - to kill Peres granddaughter?

WorldNetDaily.com | July 9, 2002 | worldnetdaily
"While the FBI is still debating whether Hesham Mohamed Hadayet, the Egyptian who shot up an El Al ticket counter at Los Angeles International Airport, was a terrorist, an Arabic newspaper in London reports he met twice with Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden's top lieutenant "

DEBKA | July 7, 2002

New York Daily News | 7/08/02 | JANE H. FURSE
"The gunman who killed two Israelis during his Independence Day rampage at Los Angeles International Airport may have ties to Osama Bin Laden's right-hand man, an Arabic-language newspaper reported yesterday"

WorldNetDaily.com | Monday, July 8, 2002 | Joseph Farah
"Personally, I'm getting a little tired of such coincidences. When and how do a series of "isolated incidents" begin to show a pattern to the FBI? Why is it that the FBI is afraid to add two plus two? "

So let's see, in the Muslim mind, when things aren't going your way, instead of selling some assets and returning home to Egypt, or taking some pills, or getting drunk, or just jumping off your apartment building roof, you decide to load up your guns, drive down to El Al, and kill some Jews, and hopefully the granddaughter of an Israeli official who happens to be there. Wow. Gosh we need more of these time bombs in our country. Open another visa express.

Give me a break. If this is how Muslims commit suicide or handle disappointment, then every Muslim in America is a Hadayet -in-waiting, a terrorist waiting to happen, and they need to be shown the way back home ----

Cash short....Among the myriad theories being explored is whether Hadayet simply committed a spectacular murder-suicide, motivated by despondency over some facet of his life..."

Lets see...hmmm...don't the Saudi's offer CASH incentives or REBATEs for suicide/murder of JEWS? Seems there are dozens of happy beneficiaries in the West Bank...could this Islamic 'Kill for Jews for Kwick Kash$$$ Incorporated' enterprise be spreading into Egypt?

Follow the money...

Originally, his widow claimed it was El Al Airlines that owed him money (as if the Israeli airline had deliberately hired an Arabic chauffeur) but now we find out it was a completely unrelated business that owed him money.

It is possible that Hadayet was willing to die in a suicidal attack in the hope, or expectation, that his widow would get the enormous bounty that Saddam, et al., are paying to families of suicide bombers.

In any case, Hadayet had to pass by the counters for Lufthansa, Aeoflot, and several other foreign airlines before he got to the airport's one Israeli counter and opened fire. How could that possibly indicate a terrorist motive?!
