HYANNIS - For decades it's been a favorite of environmentalists in search of cleaner, cheaper, renewable forms of energy: harnessing the power of the wind to generate electricity. Offshore wind farms, fueled by an endless supply of blustery raw material, surely could supplant fossil fuels, particularly along the gusty coastline of New England.

Socialism's virtual reality catches up to Kennedy property ... and then, well, heck ... turns out not to be such a great idea after all, that it would affect a leftist directly.
Wind power is OK directed at everybody else, but the only wind power at Hyannis that is to be tolerated, is that belching from the man who loved swomen.

What they truely support is a return to the stone age.

My impression exactly-- liberal hypocrite NIMBY-s---.
Real issue is probably fear that a wind farm will interfere with their yachting. Their private ocean will become an obstacle course!
They should join up with the leftwing Malibu Beach Militia--make the world safe for rich White liberals!

Bingo, I think that you have got it right. Nantucket is being developed at an astonishing rate, just like the beautiful pristine beaches of northern Long Island. The limosine liberal set is always so concerned with the environment in other people's backyards.
Interestingly, residents in my county are fighting the construction of an electrical generation plant which is meant to serve Canada. You would think that, this being such a liberal state, that the greens would never let it happen. Guess what? They are going to approve it because it is in the most conservative Republican area in the state.

Smog is more attractive than wind farms.

these guys are either the biggest morons on this planet
or they are so smart they are dangerous..
the only real goal of these jerkoffs is to eradicate
humans from the planet..

These wind turbines are dangerous - they spin at very high speed with a great deal of momentum and are a threat to any animal present at their altitude; namely waterfowl and Barney Frank.

Let me see, 28 square miles will supply half of the Cape's needs. Hmm, I wonder what 28 square miles of Nuclear power plants would produce? And, Nuclear power plants are certainly much more attactive than wind farms. Anyone who has traveled through Tehachapi knows exactly what I mean.

The elitist snobs don't want the wind machines because they don't look good. That's all it is.

I think if we gather up all these 'environmentalists' and place them in front of a windmill farm they'd generate all the power the earth will need for the next 10 years
To: grundle
Envirowacko alert! They want everything but not on their land.

The limosine liberal set is always so concerned with the environment in other people's backyards. Not exactly.
If memory serves me right, the whole environmental "movement" began when some limousine liberal weekend mountain homes somewhere along the east coast were threatened with a proposed high voltage power line in the late 60s or early 70s.

It may be that just hanging a couple reflective mylar strips from each blade would be enough to alert birds to the disk and scare them off. Those strips would flutter and be more visible than the blades themselves. And, they would be flying in the same part of the disk that the birds themselves were about to enter.
The strips would not affect stress loads on the windmill or require any re-engineering.
Who is trying this?
