Julian Bond needs someone to hate in order to justify the need for the NAACP.

Race-Baiting to Try Scare Blacks Away From GOP
NAACP Ad Says Bush Condones Lynching
By Linda Chavez

At some point, black voters are going to rebel against racist ploys to keep them in their place–safe in the clutches of the Democratic Party. But Al Gore and Joe Lieberman are hoping that it won’t be this year–which is why they aren’t saying much about the despicable NAACP ads running against George W. Bush.

The ads, in grainy black and white, show a pickup truck with a chain dragging across a dirt road. The voice-over is by Renee Mullins, the daughter of James Byrd, a black man dragged to his death two years ago chained to a pickup in Jasper, Tex.

Mullins accuses Gov. Bush of refusing to support a new hate-crimes bill, saying, "It was like my father was killed all over again." The unmistakable message: Bush condones lynching. SNIP ....

"The president is focused on bringing people together and uniting the nation," said White House spokeswoman Claire Buchan.

Which is an excellent reason NOT to address this group.

Julian Bond has been a race hustler longer than Jackson,
Sharpton or any of the others. For 30 years he's been used by the liberal establishment to keep the blacks from straying off the plantation. In return, like his fellow
poverty pimps, he lives a life of luxury provided for by
his masters on the left.

The NAACP is voluntarily putting itself in the wrong place at the wrong time and this is very good for our side. Polls show that fully 80% of Black Americas are in favor of vouchers. The leadership of the NAACP is spending its time and chips telling the average Black American that "you don't like vouchers because we're telling you that you don't like vouchers". I don't think it will work. I predict that the number of people, Blacks Hispanic Asian White and all others, banging at the board of ed doors demanding vouchers THIS September will be over whelming. This will drive a wedge between the NAACP and rank and file Black America. When these newly "illusioned" voters see what party is and what party is not trying to give them vouchers, we can't help but benefit.

Julian Bond is a has-been Lib who was looking for a gig when the NAACP job opened up. Anyone remember why they were looking for a new boss ?

I'll admit to having some problems with things like the Patriot Act but I won't use my concerns to attack W, who's a hundred times better tha his (yuck) predecessor.

Interesting that Julian won't discuss the 70% illegitmate rate among blacks...or that nearly every damn house in the "black areas" of Houston have bars on the doors and windows...to keep lawlwss BLACKS out!

Seems to me that Julian Bond has to be a PERPETUAL victim...to "elevate" himself over the blacks he keeps on his "Victim Plantation"...

"Today, freedom loving people and the NAACP are fighting against transferring tax dollars to private schools."

He didn't finish the statement - he should have added that they are fighting against mediocre union teachers losing their jobs. Ultimately, that is where the problems lie; and the NAACP shows their true agenda when they work against the interests of children and for the interests of the retention of sub-standard schools, administrations and teachers.

NAACP board chairman Julian Bond lashed out at the way federal authorities have handled civil rights.

Then the civil rights issued he speaks about are;

As he urged the audience to continue defending affirmative action, the NAACP board chairman had harsh words for groups he said were dedicated to overturning the gains of the civil rights movement.

"As George W. Bush has ascended to the presidency, they have ascended to unprecedented positions of power within the federal government," he said.

It seems these groups NEVER have a name. But ask any liberal Democrat if these groups are overturning the gains of the civil rights monvement and they are sure some one is.

Addressing the issue of school vouchers......Bush said the school voucher ruling was as historic as the Brown v. Board of Education decision, which integrated the nation's schools.

Ther vast majority of black are in favor of school vouchers. So it seem by Mr. Bonds own logic he is against civil rights.

BTW, IMO vouchers will be far better than Brown vs BOE in destroying prefectly good schools.

Mr. Bond is a hustler of the worst sort. Why can't the NAACP elect leaders that actually focus on issues that will help the black community? Like. personal responsibilty, intact families, education, etc, etc, Civil rights should be the least of the NAACP concerns.
