Last week, members of Congress leapt to the defense of the words "under God." They shouted the phrase on Capitol Hill and in front of every available camera. But what about the two little words in the Pledge of Allegiance that come right before "under God"?

Who in Washington will rise in defense of "one nation"?
Who in Washington will rise in defense of "and to the Republic for which it stands"?
A Republic, Not a Democracy by Ron Paul
In part...Last week I introduced a resolution in Congress which reaffirms our nation's republican form of government. H.Con Res 443 serves as a response to recent calls for the abolition of the electoral college. The collectivist liberals want popular national elections (rather than the electoral college system) because they know their constituencies are concentrated in certain heavily populated states. They want to nullify the voting power of the smaller, pro-liberty states. Supporters of my resolution in Congress can send a strong message that every state still matters, and that liberty is more important than shifting majority sentiment.

The article speaks for itself............BUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, South Dakota Democrat, is chief sponsor of S.2493, the "Uniting Families Act of 2002," a deceptively titled bill to extend amnesty to thousands of illegal aliens under the supposedly "temporary" 245(i) program.

............co-sponsors include fellow liberal Democrats Sen. Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts and Sen. Christopher Dodd of Connecticut, and liberal Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska. Another outspoken supporter of amnesty for illegal aliens who cut in front of law-abiding visa applicants: President Bush.

Rep. Barney Frank, Massachusetts Democrat, is chief sponsor of another disingenuously titled goodie for illegal aliens: H.R. 1452, the "Family Reunification Act of 2002." The bill seeks to repeal key provisions of the 1996 immigration reform law............

...........co-sponsors of his bleeding-heart criminal alien reimportation scheme: left-wing House Democrats Sheila Jackson-Lee of Texas, Barbara Lee, Tom Lantos and Bob Filner of California, Charles Rangel and Jerrold Nadler of New York, Cynthia McKinney of Georgia, John Conyers of Michigan and Jim McDermott of Washington, as well as Republican Lincoln Diaz-Balart of Florida.

Sen. Jeff Bingaman, New Mexico Democrat, has offered S. 2449, the "Federal Responsibility for Immigrant Health Act of 2002,".........siphons federal Medicaid dollars away from citizens to pay for the medical bills of illegal aliens.

...............Sens. John McCain, Arizona Republican, and Jon Corzine and Bob Torricelli, both New Jersey Democrats, are co-sponsors.

Sen. Orrin Hatch, Utah Republican, has proposed S. 1291, the obnoxiously titled "Dream" Act, which allows illegal aliens to cut in front of millions of other would-be immigrants who are following the rules........

...........co-sponsored by Sen. Maria Cantwell, Washington Democrat, allows all 50 states to subsidize tuition for illegal aliens at public universities, rescinds deportation orders for certain illegal alien students and lets them jump the line for legal residency.

"and to the Republic"

Yup! That's what Michael Newdow and so many other ER Doctors in CA are REALLY after. There seems to be a clicque of these radical leftist Doctors working in emergency rooms around here.

They seem to have come to the conclusion that they see more of societies ills under a republican form of government and are very politically active in efforts for nationalized health care, extreme governmental land use controls/EnvironMentalism, helmet, seatbelt and other "Big Brother Laws," etc., etc., etc.

They are an arrogant bunch of self-annointed, self righteous, self appointed "guardians of society" that were the first to seek to "Unionize" the medical profession!

You watch, you'll be hearing more from them!!! One just tried to usurp the Republican establishment in Placer County and unseat one of the strongest conservatives in Congress! These are highly intollerant pedlers of phony tolerance that want to fool you, so they can rule you!

They hate our western culture and institutions everybit as much as the Islamists! They want to bring it all down!!! Don't believe it? NewDow, like Osama, used our own courts to slam into the twin towers of western culture and tradition.

I'm pleased you noticed even though I didn't ping you. I should have, but I don't have an automated "ping list" and I should have thought of you. Thanks. Hope your "Independence Day" weekend was delightful.

Hmmmm.

"The Coddle Illegal Alien Criminals Act of 2002"...
AKA S2493. I'll have to remember that.

I'm communicating from my "backup browser"-- a 66 mhtz. 486 with a sticking keyboard & gritty trackball- so excuse the weird typos, they are hard to go back to & correct.

Years ago ( like up to 30 years! ) I pit-crewed and drove a little for Roger "Pa" Parsons around motorcycle, drag, circle-track, and stockcar races throughout the South-- that's the "real" America. A little rough, a little gritty, kind of self-depreciating, obscenely funny- and deeply patriotic. Our 'friends' who don't like America very much are fools to annoy people like that.

I added some keywords.

Sabertooth ought to see this, and he might want to ping some of those following this topic.

The Gramscians realized early on that they would not respond to their egrecious attacks on American Institutions.

They went after our elite educated members of Higher Education, the Media and the Churches.

These Americans about whom you are talking are the very ones that elite liberal Democrats hold in the most contempt. Next to blacks, American Indians, fly over women (soccer Moms), ordinary men (Joesixpack) and immigrants of all stipes. How any of these people can actually be fooled into thinking that these politicans give a darn bout them amazes me. They are obvious in their contempt. The patronizing of all things not in their immediate circle is sickening.

One of Hillary's litmus test is a person's teeth. Unless they have perfect pearly whites, they are not monied and to be disregarded. She actually said this some time ago. She did not say she disregarded them, that was implied.

The liberals have tried to ruin the medical profession, but you are right. It has bought into the idea of socialized medecine. Follow the money.

The insurance companies should be independent, but instead, they have learned how to make us very dependent on the government. I bet if you check our our gasbag politicians, there would be a whole different story in their medical care. Too bad we can't get these melon heads examined. The mush would be too difficult to view.

Vote on USA Today's Poll regarding the Pledge of Allegiance

Should the two words "Under God" be removed from the Pledge of Allegiance?
