Q. Do you think the LAX incident represented a failure of security?

A. As happened on Sept. 11, aviation was used as a vehicle for terrorism or for a political statement. When you look at the incident and the fact that it happened outside of airport security, there's really not a whole lot that the airport and the airline could have done different.

Well, then maybe there should be security from the moment that you leave your house in the morning

Arrogant bastad! No one is asking for security from the minute he/she leaves the house. And Israel is NOT facing a different terrorist threat. It's all one and the same threat in all free countries with Islam being the common thread.

Instead of lecturing us, this jerk should vent his hostility on the Immigration Service, the FBI and the left instead of us critics and "whiners" who, in his eyes, are making impossible demands.

Well, I just sent the following letter to the editor of the Miami herald. I have a pretty good record on their publishing my letters, so we'll see. I'll keep y'all "posted." LOL

To the Editor: The tragic shooting at LAX is disturbing because the agent of a foreign government had to act to defend the citizens of California with his correct and lawful use of lethal force because there was no AMERICAN (especially not from California) around with the means and mindset to stop the attack. All we could do is try and seek cover while whimpering and whining about safety and security. The result, I'm sure, will be more hue and cry (emphasis on CRY) for more gun control laws when it has been resoundingly demonstrated worldwide that such laws only serve to make life easier and safer for terrorists and criminals. No cops, no national guard with their unloaded weapons....not even a sky marshall on a coffee break! An ISRAELI SECURITY AGENT. What has happened to the spirit of American "rugged individualism?" Gone. Replaced by cowardly liberalism.

Senators Clinton, Schumer and Lieberman continue to try to make us all walking targets (or flying ones in the case of disarming airline pilots who are mostly military anyway) because all LIBERALS are simply afraid to fight for freedoms that were won by blood, and now must be preserved in the same manner. We're in a war, folks. This country should be re-arming and TRAINING its citizens. We are now, all of us, on the front lines.

My wife just cautioned me that not ALL liberals are cowards. Maybe not...but the ones who count...are.

Absolutely an excellent heartfelt letter!

We are at War, there is no question about it. We have enemies here at home and abroad, and not all are from the Middle East!

Some appear to be in the highest levels of our Government!

Terrific letter. How many similar tragedies could've been nipped in the bud if all the states allowed conceal-carry? I always think of the massacre at the Luby's in Texas, where several patrons had left their guns in the car. We should not be forced to be walking targets in public by stupid liberal gun restriction laws.

I can't help but wonder about a few things: 1.) If citizens were armed, how many shots would this whacko have gotten off?; 2.) where do we draw the line on this security nonsense?...Screening before entering every building or public place, screening of the parking garage, screening at every intersection?...Yeah, the terror is real and those who initiated it are winning the game (can YOU tolerate a five hour reporting time for a flight?)

I think the time has come to light these bastards and their countries up! We have yet to do much of that (Iraq was a side show and we didn't unload what we should have on that "conflict")...make a solid point and show of tremendous retailtory force and this crap would come to a halt! Ditto the perps who we catch...trial, sentence and then get a rope! No waiting!

No, some liberals are very brave behind their body guards that we subsidize or pay for outright. I am still surprised that the union/communist infested LAPD didn't arrest the El AL guard! Arming pilots and supervisors makes more sense to me than pushing security outside into the elements where the herd can be easily culled by the wolves with a few grenades. If we followed Mary Schiavo's advice there would be almost nobody flying.
