The press, they say, has failed to distinguish between the anti-Semitic acts occurring in France today — mostly attributed to Muslim teenagers angry about the conflict in the Middle East —

"Muslim teenagers" are the future French people, because of their insane immigration and politically correct policies. It clearly shows the hypocrisy of the leftist elites. On the one hand, they want to pretend that these Muslim immigrants are loyal French, but then deny that they are French when it is convenient.

Why haven't these "muslim teenagers" been assimilated, re-educated and Frenchified? Why are they more loyal to their M.E. brethren than to their "own" country? Because the French are afraid to impose their culture upon the portion of immigrants that want to be there. The rest are invaders and terrorists.

We are making the same stupid mistakes here in the United States.

Already posted here.

Yes, but this thread was posted to one of the four main sidebars, which insures people will see it. The thread you linked to was not, which guaranteed it would sink into obscurity unless it had exploded into a hundreds-of-posts-long super-active thread within moments of being posted.

As a result, the NYT misses the thing that really drives the French crazy: Americans do not care what the French say, think, or do.

You nailed it.
In fact, Americans have that same attitude toward all of Europe and it simply drives the newsroom elites there crazy.

Where's Hank Scorpio when you need him?

Believe me, I searched with the searchword "France" and it did not come up.

I believe you. The search engine has tricked me a couple of times, too.

I read some time ago here that the Frence environazis have stopped frog hunting....so frogs legs are now imported from South East Asia.

That must really tick them off.

You have a point. I just compared the times the two threads were posted and said "Already posted" on the one that came later.

Yeah, I wasn't meaning to get on your case or anything. I just think it's the infinite number of sidebars is the worst feature of the new FR software. Before, you could be reasonably sure of seeing all the articles posted to FR if you had all four sidebars turned on and checked in about twice a day, because every post had to be put in at least one of the four main categories. Now 75% of Freepers posting new articles don't bother to put them in more than one or two topics like "politics" or "business", and they fall off the Latest Posts page before anyone even sees them, unless it's 4 am on a Monday morning or something when there aren't 20 new responses being posted every 60 seconds.

Anyway, I'm watching both threads now and enjoying the hilarious comments. Check out #17 on the thread I linked--it's my favorite!

Not nearly as much as the Chinese truffles! I kid you not!

And indeed, the "XYZ" Affair got things off to a bad start.

The irony is that if is was not for the French, we would likely have lost the revolt against England.

I would say for the most part Americans are very indifferent towards the French. We don't pay any attention to them, they can't stand it. When we hear these stories of the French calling Americans arrogant it is irritating. I think they just want a little attention.

My father loved France, so I was brought up in a Francophilic atmosphere.

I visited France some years ago.

I will return only if someone gives me the keys to a fully-laden SAC B52.

The French I met worked VERY HARD to create this change of attitude. I could not care less what they think. They are irrelevant.

By the way, the number of active Klansmen in the US today is roughly a whopping 2500 people.

Probably half of whom are undercover feds.

My Father, who fought in the 28th ID during WWII, and was captured during the Bulge, has no hard feelings towards the Germans at all. He did aquire a deep and abiding dislike of the French.

While in France, the Free French Infantry (FFI) would often point his patrols in the direction of German positions. When they were invited to participate in the coming assault, they would invariably decline. After the action was complete, the FFI would re-emerge and demand to shoot what prisoners they had taken.

He told me that a rifle butt to the chops but an end to such requests.

And, it will get much worse. Now that the Grench have the unusual good sense to dicard the socialists and select centrists to run the whole country, our ultra-liberal, extreme left wing media will really begin to take shots at them Lefties like the New York Times and the National Enquirer will begin to structure their whole foreign coverage to paint the more conservative French government as much worse then the friendly crypto-communists government it replaced. Well, maybe not so much the National Enquirer.

Just look at how the Eurinals went after the Austrians, who seemed to favor a non-communist.

I have gone to France repeatedly and have always been treated with politeness and decency. It is a beautiful country with great food, wonderful scenery and interesting history. The problems in Paris are mostly due to many of the young Arab men from Algeria and Morocco (the older folks are mostly in business and fit in well) who have no desire to be French, are often unemployed and are concentrated in high-rise hovels in the ring suburbs of the cities. They make inviting targets for the Islamofascists, who by the way, are funded by Saudi Arabia.

I waited on a young French couple in a cafe on Capitol Hill.Very nice people. I was about to wonder if I had err'd in judgement on the French, when the man asked why I had my anti hillary button on.(Godzillarys face with a redline through it)I explained that liberal commies had no place in America. They said in France the Xlintons are revered. Enough said.
