Its really rather pathetic watching the Social-Democratic Party try to find some sort of a theme to campaign on this year. Other than steadily increasing the size of government, the Democrats have no real agenda of their own. Their entire campaign strategy has been reduced to two steps:
Step One. Find something in the news that the majority of Americans dont like.
Step Two. Blame it on George W. Bush and the Republican Party.
Ill give ninety seconds here to trying to come up with a few examples of the Democrats Oh, that upsets you? Well its the Republicans Fault campaign strategy.
Enron collapse. Bushs fault. He helped Kenneth Lay defraud his employees. September 11th. Bushs fault. He knew all about it but let it happen anyway. WorldCom. Bushs fault. Western wildfires. Republicans fault, because of their disagreement with environmental policies. Now --- a new twist. Many of these corporate scandals weve seen lately, Enron and WorldCom included, can be blamed on the Republicans fight against high taxes. Yup, you got it! Blame it all on the evil Republicans because theyve been fighting for lower taxes.
This is the argument that presidential loser Al Gore made at a speech to supporters in New York last week. Gore told the group of big-government leftists that these corporations are not telling the truth about their future liabilities so they can shovel money out to executives at the top. Well in some cases that may be true! Obviously the top-level executives in Enron and WorldCom made out a lot better than the rank-and-file employees. But --- Gore takes it a step forward. He adds that this is exactly what the Bush tax cut will do shovel money out to (executives) at the top. The same old Democratic mantra tax cuts for the rich, blah blah blah.
Gores rhetoric is right in line with statements made by Richard Gephardt, the won lifes lottery collectivist who wants to be the next House speaker. Gephardt and other Social-Democrats have been trying to blame the corporate misdeeds of Enron, Global Crossing, WorldCom and others on the Republicans calls for lower taxes. The Democrats thought process runs thusly: The Republican tax cut plans would benefit wealthy taxpayers --- CEOs for instance. Therefore, the Republicans are conveying on these corporate CEOs some sort of a moral authority to rip off investors and employees. Now this type of argument would never fly with an informed and logical voter .. but thats not who the Democrats are targeting with this BS. Theyre after the core Democratic voter: Under-educated under-achievers. You know, the type of folks who believe that there is actually a Social Security Trust Fund.
1) The Republicans, and especially Pres. Bush want to privatize SS and take away your SS benefits, causing old people to live in the street and eat dog food.
2) The Republicans, and especially Pres. Bush do not want a comprehensive prescription drug plan under medicare, thus causing old people to choose between food and medicine. No one should have to make that choice.
3) The republicans, and especially Pres. Bush want to make the recent tax cuts permanent, eliminate the inheritance tax, and institute new tax cuts. They want to raid the SS Trust Fund to pay for these tax cuts, thus causing a reduction in benefits and the health of the program which will lead to old people living in the street and eating dog food.
4) The republicans, and especially Pres. Bush are ignoring science and the health of our citizens with their anti-environmental policies ranging from global warming to our air and water quality. Their policies will cause people to DIE!
They do this year in and year out and have been doing it for decades. Yet the GOP still has yet to come up with a way to counter the RATS lies.
Oh, please. They counter the lies constantly, and often quite effectively. But one has to watch the Sunday morning shows to hear the GOP message, whereas the media bleats the Dem lies constantly.
Oh, don't be silly. That happened in 1666 or there abouts. So it couldn't have been George W.'s fault. Everybody knows it was his father's fault, silly. Now,the sinking of the "Andrea Doria"...well, there are whispers.
I vote NO.
However, the main push will be on the incompetence of the Senate and House Republican leadership...and how dangerous it would be to return the Senate.
Pick any issue and the Republicans are easily the most retarded legislators in the world...which is why they make great Presidents.
They do it because it works. They consistantly pull about 50% of the vote in national elections. That's a lot of mind-numbed sheeple. And dead people.
My opinion of the American voter has gone into the toilet because of the last 3 persidential elections. Morons, sheeple and half-wits determine far too many elections. Far too many believe that nonsense on your post. I watch Gephardt, Daschle and Gore and think "That's absurd! No one could be stupid enough to believe that!" And yet I am always wrong.
This issue must be addressed head-on. The GOP has nothing to lose. One of the better strategies that should be deployed is to turn the RATS ads into a parody, with ridicule and laughter. It's the only way to stop it.
Duh, gee, I wonder how that's gonna turn out.
Pray for GW and the Truth
And those who quickly learned of this were sent to the Tower of London.
