Coleman, 26, was taken to the woodshed by GOP leaders in several recent meetings to get him to vote for a hike in cigarette taxes and tipping fees at landfills to help cover a $1.2 billion state deficit and help boost education funding. Perzel said he has not talked to Coleman. Stand against tax hikes, and the GOP takes you to the woodshed, and its leaders call you a "boy". How...interesting.

Bump! Kudos for Jeffrey Coleman's taking a stand on principle and saying NO to the RINOs in Harrisburg. Now there's a true profile in courage. Usually you find politicians forgetting who elected them and artfully explaining why they have to raise your taxes. No wonder the Pennslyvania GOP leadership took him to the woodshed; you don't oppose tax increases when your party leadership's for them. Its telling Republicans seem to have become that which they once opposed. Would that we had more Colemans in American politics.

a Philadelphia Republican What do they look like? Never heard of such a thing.
I agree with criticisms of reps who vote for spending bills while demagoguing on the tax issue. But it doesn't appear that this guy has done that, yet. He should stick to his guns, and vote against the tax increase AND the spending bill.

What do they look like? White, basically. Their observed behavior, however, is very much like The Philadelphiaus Democratus so many believe them to be the same species.

Thanks for the contact information for Mr. Coleman. Do you happen to have the same for the "leader" that wants him to vote for tax increases?
To: Willie Green
"House Majority Leader John Perzel, the tough-fisted leader of the Republican caucus, teed off Thursday on Rep. Jeffrey Coleman for refusing to support a tax increase."Yup, there's are anti-tax, smaller government GOP'ers. Got to love those guys. I am willing to bet that Pennsylvania does not have term limits.

The Republican Party should stand for cutting spending not raising taxes, according to Coleman.Yeah, that old stuff that we all used to agree on.
But since the Rs morphed into the Cs (Compassionates), we must let go of those antiquated notions.
Stick to principle and get called "boy".

One of your most salient post, Willie. Says it all. The Pubbie leadership is no different than the socialists & the "Two-Party Cartel" is just that.

Perzel's email is jmp@pahousegop.com. I can't find Coleman's middle initial, but I'm sure the format is the same for him. Anyone know his middle name?
To: Willie Green
Stay the course Coleman!

e-mail this brave young man. If we want to change the GOP so that we can vote Republican again without holding our noses, we need to encourage him and the few others like him
