Surely she would not wear that thing over her face when she drives, how do you see to the sides or to change lanes? That's the public safety threat.

"To make an individual's obligation to obey such a law contingent upon the law's coincidence with his religious beliefs . . . -- permitting him, by virtue of his beliefs, 'to become a law unto himself' -- contradicts both constitutional tradition and common sense." -- Employment Division, Dept. of Human Resources v. Smith, 494 U.S. 872 (1990).

With all the schooling this "Judge" has had, he still lacks the common sense of a ten year old child.

This I do not understand. As we are reminded constantly, "driving is not a right, its a priveledge" granted by the state. You have to comply with their rules and regs or they take it away and there's nothing you can do.
So if you refuse to comply with the rules now if you sue in front of a PC judge you're golden! I can see it now. "Drunk driving? Well, ya see judge, I'm a monk of the cult of Bachus and its wine gorging week, I'm required to be drunk all week. Its my religion!" Home free!

Didn't know women from her society were allowed outside the house, let alone driving a car.

Florida's first mistake is letting her get away with this .......(fill in the blank!)...when she applied after moving here, from Illinois.
So, do we assume Illinois let her pulll this stunt there, too?
....and if they let her do this, are there others????
Sheesh, the things we didn't know!
Well, it's a whole new ballgame now...........Hope Florida can make her comply!
I've lived here 27 years & cringe at the reputation my state is getting!

"To make an individual's obligation to obey such a law contingent upon the law's coincidence with his religious beliefs . . . -- permitting him, by virtue of his beliefs, 'to become a law unto himself' Great quote! But, since our courts seem determined to abandon common sense, perhaps I should get busy and craft a very special set of religious beliefs...let's see now...
It's against my beliefs to pay any taxes ever...
It's against my beliefs to conform to any traffic laws...
It's against my beliefs to tip the waitress...(Oops! That one would have serious consequences! I'd better stick with the first two!)

How can I join your "church?" Ask the nice prison guard when the next service is scheduled.

When you finish the list, let me know. I'd like to subscribe to your church's newsletter.

Don't you see? It's unconstitutional to deny a woman the "priviledge" of driving because islam violates the protocol for obtaining said priviledge, yet a girl can be denied her "right" to utter "Jesus" in public because then she would be exercising her Freedom of Religion as a Christian.
Who else here is ticked off? *raise you hands...
(not to count them but because you are now under arrest)

I saw this on the news last night. This woman used to be an Evangelist minister who converted to the Muslim religion. This is a complete crock.

Any Arabic countries that direct a woman show her face in photos for driver's licenses the apply for? I know Saudis won't let women drive, but I believe they can in other M.E. Islamist nations. Someone should check. This would remove their contention and their hiding under the veil (sorry, play on words) of 'religion' and 'culture'.
