President Bush continued his trip to the G-8 summit in Canada today. There were two action items on today's agenda. The first item, according to Condie Rice, "was a transport security agreement, which was a U.S.-proposed initiative that will enhance security while making the borders of countries safer, while making cargo and shipments of cargo safer. And so they see this both as an important measure for security, and because it concentrates not just on making things more secure, but more efficient. It's also an important way to assure commerce while assuring security.
The second major initiative completed today, when President Putin arrived, is the global partnership for the destruction of weapons of mass destruction -- the so-called 10 plus 10, it's been called. And this is an effort to bring to bear more resources, now $20 billion over 10 years, from the G7 countries and Russia to deal with the destruction of weapons of mass destruction -- chemical, biological, and nuclear matters of safety, but also matters of destruction."
The G-8 leaders also presented the Africa Action plan. Bush also spent time meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

QUOTE OF THE DAY: I appreciate you hear me say that I appreciate the fact that our country prays for me and Laura. And I do. I do, I feel the prayers of the people. And so there is a -- I think that the Almighty is important -- obviously, important part of my life, but very important part of the life of our country. And that's why the ruling of the courts was out of step with the traditions and history of America.

I posted this on "A FEW OF FR's FINEST" today, which, not incidentally, was dedicated to our own
REPUBLICAN WARRIOR PRINCESS!!!, and thought you might like to find out how ERIC is doing!............
Just got back from a New England vacation.........we got a letter from Eric, and a couple of calls and I'll give you all an update.....
He is very excited about what he's doing.....he's in the thick of basic training now, and is one of the 5% who has passed or exceeded all the physical requirements (including the required running 2 miles in 13 1/2 minutes which he finished in 12 minutes). He said they were going to tackle Misery and Agony hills this week, but we haven't heard what he thought about it.
He says he's in the best shape he's ever been in, and loves that, and he laughed about having no hair! He has a younger and an older Drill Sergeant, and he likes them both (and I'm sure they like him, too, because he does what he's told, and does it well!)
He also says he's had the opportunity to witness to a lot of the guys in his platoon, and tell them about the Lord. One of them even asked Eric to hit him when he cussed, because he wanted to stop, and wanted Eric's help.
Eric asked us to pray for him, that he would be shielded from the language, and the sexual jokes, and that he would remain strong, but he also asked for prayer for the guys he's witnessing to, that they would understand their need for Christ.
He's absolutely sure that he's where God wants him to be, and he's having a great time!
PRAISE THE LORD!!
