These don't look too bad, but they appear to be slipping.

Thye average from 74 to 64 approve. Not bad at all, IMHO... and it must have the Rats seeing red! LOL!
To: GulliverSwift
Well, it looks like the strategy of "taking away the Democrat's issues" is working like a charm.
Good thing the President didn't spend his political capital when his numbers were in the 80s or 90s. They might have gone down sooner.

To: Sabertooth
Yada, yada. No one expected him to stay in the 90's.
To: GulliverSwift
There's a reason they call 2/3 a super majority, it ain't easy to muster up that kind of percentage much less keep it for any length of time. Anything above the 50s is a sweet approval rating.

My question is this: Why aren't the media trumpeting these numbers from the rooftops like they did when Bubba was hovering around 60-ish? Doh! Ok, so it's a rhetorical question. ;-)
To: GulliverSwift
When you consider that about 50% of the disapproval is from the
very far right (some on this board) this is really great news.
I can't wait to see the first poll after Bush's Middle East speech.

No one expected him to stay in the 90's.
Exactly. So there was no point in not spending the capital to kill CFR and crack down on the border, among other things. And neither of those would have cost much.
The GOP plays way too much prevent defense.

To: GulliverSwift
It appears Bush has pretty much levelled off in the 70% area. Pretty nice. It should be noted that all of these occurred before his big speech on Monday. That probably gave him a small boost.

Well, it looks like the strategy of "taking away the Democrat's issues" is working like a charm. I wouldn't say that too soon!
Dickie Gephardt today blamed the current US business fraud and deceit disclosures on the Republican Congress for the past 8 years.
He says that less taxes and less regulations gave the crooks fertile ground.
The poor clumsy, slowpoke Republicans would be accused of beating a dead horse if they put the blame where it really deserves to be put. Clinton again. Why does it have to be Clinton again.......?
To: Miss Marple
Heck, in this country, I didn't even expect him to stay in the 60's.
To: Miss Marple
Some of the drop can probably be conservatives whom are still ticked off with many of his liberal moves the past few months. He has not helped himself with the base with some of his spending actions.
To: GulliverSwift
After all the attacks from the loyal opposition, the leftwing media and angry rightwing extremists, the American people remain believe President Bush is getting the job done and very well I might add. These poll snapshots indicate good news for Republicans heading into the fall elections.
To: GulliverSwift
Followin Pappy's pattern.
If he was a stock, I'd say "Sell"!
To: RetiredArmy
FYI...these numbers are way higher than his numbers in August of last year. I would say that another speech or press conference will bring them back up.
To: GulliverSwift
Not bad! I expected sopme slippage but these seem to be well within the same range he's been in for months.

I love President Bush and I'll never forget the day we FINALLY knew he'd become our President. Whew! For victory & freedom!!!

Yes. That was an awesome day indeed. Don't waste your breath on some of these Bush haters. They wouldn't have been happy unless Nader or Buchanan won. Which they never will.
