When Attorney General John Ashcroft announced changes to the Guidelines on General Crimes, Racketeering Enterprise and Terrorism Enterprise Investigations ("Domestic Guidelines") for the Federal Bureau of Investigation on May 30, he lauded its 94-year-old history as "the tireless protector of civil rights and civil liberties for all Americans." That history may have come to an end.

What might a future Attorney General Hillary Clinton do under the new guidelines?

Why would she stop at the anti-abortion protesters? So when the Free Republic activists will be missing, maybe they will be under indefinite detention, without right to attorney, without anyone being informed and without being charged. And it will be very hard to find out what happened.

Using the rstrictions on pro-life is not a good example of the problems with the new guidelines if one want to get the media behind the protest. If it hurst pro-life, the media will love it. However, it looks like the new guidelines will also target union activities because they often block access to buildings as part of their protests. Maybe if we start considering all the left-wing causes that will also be hurt by these changes, then we get some bi-partisian support to oppose them.

Or maybe the bi-partisan deal will be the opposite. The right will throw anti-abortion protesters to the wolves and the left will sacrifice some left wing causes.

That way whoever is in power will have more of it.

Pro-Lifers have been targets for years. This government will do anything to stop the truth of domestic violence in the womb.
