Dozens of Palestinians holed up in the besieged Palestinian Authority administrative headquarters in the West Bank city of Hebron surrendered Tuesday and Wednesday to IDF troops.
The men, who totalled around 120, were taken away for questioning. By Wednesday night, only the 20 who appear on Israel's wanted list for suspected links to terror remained in Israeli custody, including four senior activists.
Some 40 Palestinians have been arrested so far in Hebron.
Around 15 people are believed to still be inside the complex. Palestinian sources said the men inside were holding a suspected Israeli collaborator as a hostage.
The building came under IAF helicopter missile fire Wednesday night, local residents reported. Eyewitnesses said two Apache helicopters fired at the building.
The soldiers and the Palestinians became locked in a standoff earlier in the day Wednesday with the Palestinians refusing to leave the building.
The soldiers initially used megaphones to call on the gunmen to leave the building. Palestinian sources reported that the parents of four of the wanted men holed up inside the building, were even brought in effort to persuade their sons to surrender.
One man eventually entered the building and exited with his son, Maumon Amar, who was injured during the exchanges of fire.
The IDF operation in the city began early Tuesday, with troops surrounding the hilltop building. The IDF spokesman said that troops combing the area around the building found over 100 explosive devices.
"We're here. They're there. We have the time," Hebron battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel David Blumenfield told Israel Radio. "Slowly, slowly people are coming out."
The IDF spokesman said that the operation in Hebron would continue for at least another few weeks.
Palestinian boy, 6, killed in Jenin A six-year-old Palestinian boy was killed by IDF fire in the Jenin refugee camp Wednesday. Palestinian sources said that Bassam Saudi was hit in the chest by machine gun fire from an IDF tank.
Another 12-year-old boy was hit in the legs. According to the sources, the boys were throwing stones at the tank.

Compare this to what happens to Israelis who make a wrong turn and are captured by Palestineans.
Yes sir, we remember - all to well - and so do the Israelis. Sadly, it may take a generation to civilize the Palis.
This is obviously in error. We know the IDF always goes into a Palestinian area with guns blazing and massacres all whom they encounter. Arafat said so.
Over and out.

What about martyrdom for Palestine?...
Well, So much for the ....BRAVE....arab warriors!
What a pathetic, parasitic people.
The IDF should have deported the 100 that were released. With terrorism, guilt by association should be redefined.

BTW, I am trying my best to tone down my posts on FR. Ordinarily, I would have advocated euthenasia.
